So, the YourPet.tv HQ has become home to quite a few more stick insects, and they're growing so quickly! We'll hopefully be putting up some photos soon so you can all see. We've noticed that when they are young and small they are far more active and even give us a little dance when we go to check on them. We think they are going through a 'shedding' process at the moment as many of them are just hanging out at the top of their vivarium. More updates to follow

I vaguely remember many years ago as a child having a stick insect in a jam jar. Not where you should keep them though although seemed common then. Looking it up I see they are not natural to the UK & are only really found in the SW. Well I was west but in either Lancashire (Bolton) or Westmorland (Kendal) I can't believe it came from a pet shop, maybe it was school! I remember it having eggs.

I used to have one a while ago, he was called Twix. They make lovely pets, I use to hold him and let him walk up my arm My sister got him from school as her teacher's stickys were breeding like mad. Twix ended up having millions - I'm not even exaggerating - of eggs which we had to squash because we simply can't look after that many. Twix ended up dying after having so many eggs. We use to feed him on ivy from our garden

Ohhh stick insects are quite interesting! We've noticed the smaller they are the faster they move! They're all clinging to the top of their vivarium at the moment
