I think I know this answer already but is there any other way to sex Guinea pigs other than checking their private area? Im guessing not but thpught I would ask in the off chance...
Reason Im asking is because I have recently got 2 guinea pigs...meant to be females but I get the feeling that 1 could be male because of the way she/he is around the other always rumbling n swinging her/his hips...its either that or she is very hormonal lol. I managed to check one the other day but not the other. They have only started trusting me enough to come up and take food from my hand and Im worried if I try handle them too soon its going to be 10 steps back. Hense why I havent just picked them up and checked...any ideas? Advice?

Guinea pigs are one of the easiest animals to sex, do you have a photo of their bits? Males are very obvious! The behaviour you describe is known as rumble strutting, its totally normal, its just their way of deciding who is boss. Females do it just as often as males
