Read this news report this morning. I can not understand the mentality behind human logic (or lack of it)! Just wondered what others thought of this. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23060401BBC news - Pets 'dumped to avoid summer holiday care costs'

Sad to say sarahhound is right, although it does seem to be getting worse.
The recession is hitting peoples pockets - owners may well have planned successfully for their pets in the past but loss of jobs etc. is making it more & more difficult for some & most rescues are full to bursting. However having said that it doesn't excuse the abandonment although I don't have an answer for how you cope in those circumstances.
A cat with kittens - well if the cat was spayed it wouldn't have kittens! At least the mum was with the kittens rather than just dumping the kittens on their own when they don't look old enough to cope on their own.
