I think he is well hydrated. I've been using Sonics water bottle to make sure he drinks enough. Checked everything else and he seems fine. Think i've found out what the problem is too. When Rio went to the toilet earlier it was all grass and bits of leaf. He does eat a lot of grass and I try and stop him whenever I notice but you can't watch him 24/7. This is the first time he's gotten this poorly though from doing it. I wonder if it's something to do with the grass here. Might have to ask management of the block if they do anything to the grass outside. Doubt it but you never know. P.s How did you get your avatars to move BorderTerrier and scallywag? scallywag made mine for me She turns still photos into gifs.

No, built in 1950's I think they said. We're currently waiting for a mundic test to be done which is why things are taking a while to go through. Once we have the results for that though we should get our mortgage and then be able to sign some contracts.

Hope Rio is Ok.
Not sure about dogs but with cats the vet's advice, when Lexie had a diarrhoea, was to starve her for 24 hours then chicken & rice light diet. But to make sure she drank.
With cats eating grass is an aid to digestion or to make themselves sick - is it for dogs? I seem to remember, from many years ago, that our dogs would eat grass if they were going to vomit.

My dogs eat grass quite a bit, They only eat certain tough type of grass when they want to be sick on it!! Mine dont tend to do this!
Yes Tonib I think it is to do with digestion why dogs eat grass.
Similar advice for dogs, usually you starve an then give something like chicken and rice (I use chappie) to get them back on track.
Aston, hope Rio is better soon.

Not sure yet. I think he is better. His crate was clean this morning and he didn't do his morning business this morning but I figured that was because he didn't have dinner last night.

Hope he doesn't go to the other extreme! We landed up having to give Lexie Katalax after the diarrhoea treatment, talk about one extreme to the other

Sorry Rio's not well, well Caz and Tonib beat me too it. One of my late dog was prone to diarrohea she had a very sensitive tummy i would just starve her for 24 hrs which she didn''t take kindly to, then i would offer her chicken and rice for a couple of days and if their was no change then i woud consult my vet. But sounds like you r doing everything down that line anyway.
Hope Rio feels better very soon xx

Poor Rio. Sorry to hear he's not well, Aston! I don't think I can offer any advice that hasn't already been given though. Ellie is prone to bad diarrhoea and has been to the vets a couple of times about it, but we've always come back with antibiotics and not much else. The only thing I would say, which I don't think has been said already (apologies if it has!) is that probiotic paste can really help and our vet did recommend it so if the same thing happens again, maybe consider getting some of that.

Don't worry if Rio is the opposite after the tummy upset,it will take a few days to settle down again.I have also heard pro biotic paste is useful, and Gypsy mentioned some sort of clay, can't remember the name so hope someone else can.I have it written down some where, serves me right for not jotting it down in my dog care book as intended.Hope Rios back to good health very soon.
