:(Well i think i mentioned it before in a recent post Riley is having problems with hard floors which started whilst at training sessions, since the classes Riley as become very scared of hard floors although he never had a problem with our hall that is laminated and the kitchen that as floor tiles. But after training he would not walk on the hall floor so i had to put down a runner rug and he is now fine walking in the hall.
Then yesterday out of the blue he would just not go into the kitchen for his lunch but he had been in their during the morning, all i can think is that he may have slipped and it just freaked him out. :(I tried encouraging him by throwing his kibble down but he would not attemp it,his back legs were shaking and he was whining for his dinner so i put his dinner in the porch and carried Riley through he had is dinner but then wouldn't walk back through he would even walk through to go out in the garden so i had to carry him.
When Hubby came home i told him and he got a old rug out of the hut that we used when we first moved into our house,he put it down then i fed Riley his tea and he was just fine and has been fine today the only problem is the rug is far too big so we will be going shopping tomorrow to try and get one more suitable.
I have googled this and it does look like Rough collies and shelties do have a problem with hard floors especially if they are really shiney, also Charlotte posted that they have a dog at the vets where she works and they have to put towels down on the floor for it to walk on and guess what breed it is? A ROUGH COLLIE
So it does seem to be a trait of this breed but i don't know why,i did lots and lots of research before getting Riley but nothing like this came up.
At least if i know he as a problem we can adapt around it i just wondered if anyone had any clues?
