Lovely story, similar to Frankie except he wasn't quite as nervous (still nervous though) and didn't have so many homes. We got Frank with his adopted brother Sooty when they were 6 months(ish) old from a rescue. Sooty sadly went missing when he was about 2 or 3 (we didn't know his exact age) and later a woman called and said she had found his body, someone had run him over

Great blog post. Lucky Snarfy.
Definitely worth taking on rescue pets. Our 4 are all rescues & Roman was rehomed from the rescue once before we got him, but luckily it didn't have an impact on him.

Thanks everyone and I love the feeling of rescuing an animal My auntie actually owns her own cat rescue and runs it - we sometimes help out with fostering but haven't done so since we got Snarfy - he ïs very nervous and sometimes strange animals really stress him out - we don't want him to be uncomfortable in his own home Thanks for reading my blog, keep up with emails if you like and enjoy it!

You have certainly brought out the best in Snarfy - he's one very lucky cat to have been rescued by you.
I adopted Toffee last year (or should I say Toffee adopted me). He was a stray, a real niusance, stealing my Kali's food, spraying on my cats pen, fighting with the local cats and calling all the time. He was in a rough state and a very wary of people and hated dogs. I took him to the vet after he had an eye injury and then got the Cats Protection League to pay to have him neutured. After that he calmed down a lot and decided he was living in my garden. He still doesn't trust my dog Kobi and has even launched himself at him several times - poor Kobi loves cats! but things are getting better slowly and they will sleep in the same room as long as they are watched. I think Toffee was ill treated as he was very jumpy around people and probably had a bad experience with a dog. He is now a very affectionate and funny cat - he is still an outdoor cat (sleeps in cats pen at night) but a very pampered one.

Thank you lotsofcats Aw, looks like your boy was lucky to be rescued by you then!!! Snarfy doesn't like dogs either and will hiss at Roman sometimes as Roman tries to like their faces (he is used to my other cat who is friendly with everyone - Kitty-Aslan he is called ).
