I received a Christmas card from Rachel, knights2cats, with some sad news which I'm sure she won't mind me sharing here:-
Rachel got the 2 sisters as kittens in 2012 the year she lost her beloved Mo, a tortoiseshell, to cancer. Her 2 kittens shared the same birthday just a year younger than lotsofcats Blackberry & Willow. She was a member of the old Your Cat forum & didn't really move over to this forum but there were a few posts about Iona & Ailsa

RIP Iona
Young (did you ever grow up?) and well again at Rainbow Bridge with Mo & many other forum friends
Sorely missed by your slaves (Rachel & husband) & your sister Ailsa.
We lost Iona on 9th June, 17 days after her 11th birthday.
She hadn't been well since New Year with constant sickness & diarrhoea. Despite a grain free diet & prednisone medication nothing worked. A scan was done & a mass was found on her intestines. They (vets) wanted to operate but we decided against it as she had been through enough when she was a kitten.
Her weight went down wo 2.5kg and it was realised that the food & medication wasn't working anymore & the hardest decision was made to pts.
Ailsa originally missed her sister, but over the last six months has changed a lot. She is a more loving cat, no more hissing or scratching.
