It is with great sadness that I'm letting the forum know that on 31st August 2023 my friend Ajax had to say goodbye to her Bengal, Leroy.
below is a photo of him I posted on the forum back in 2013 (yourpet.boards.net/post/36020/thread)

Leroy had a battle with Hyperthyroidism (diagnosed September 2020) but that was managed by medication. His scan at that time showed lymphoma but not sure about treatment. He's had bouts of inappetence again manged with meds, cooked chicken or whatever he'll eat.
However the final reason was a tumour attached to his spine by his left shoulder. I saw Ajax just a few days before & no report of problems, so it seems to have been a very sudden event.
I can't (but should) remember his age but I think he was about the same as Osiris so around 17.
This has not been a good year for Ajax, Leroy is the 3rd cat she has lost this year, but was the only one that was allowed outside without supervision, although the last few years he hasn't gone far or for long. All the rest are indoor with access to an outdoor pen connected to the house or supervised garden access.
He was a real character, definitely vocal about what he wanted, I like Ajax's story & description in this post:-
RIP Leroy
Now young & well again at Rainbow Bridge
with old pals Rodney, Twigs, Shirlee, Supercat, Bryan Rex, Thistle, Florence & Gordon Greengrass, Mortimer, Woody & Neko
and making new friends with other forum angels.

A couple of days ago Leroy (Bengal) was sitting on the top platform of a cat post and had his tail hanging down the side. Evie the butterfly brain saw the tail. I saw her see the tail and Lola also saw her at the same time. We obviously both thought - Uh ho - Oh no. Evie leapt on to the platform beneath him and Lola leapt on to the platform alongside her looking very concerned. Obviously the very inviting tiger tail was batted and swiftly removed from temptation. Then an upside down horrified face peered down from the platform and uttered a ferocious growl that sent Evie running for cover at top speed. Lola appeared nonchalant and washed her face with her paw in that in was nothing to do with me attitude, but I know she would have intervened as she 'looks' after the others and especially Evie who doesn't understand that Leroy is full of his own importance and has no sense of humour. RIP Leroy
