Say hello to our new family addition Rocki the Pleco I brought him home from work 🐠our manager has decided to do away with the aquarium at work and Rocki has been living with cold water fish for a few years - our manager decided to take the goldfish and put them in her pond but nobody wanted Rocki 🥲I have been looking after the fish at work for 3 years because nobody was bothered about them. I couldn’t see Rocki homeless so I decided to bring him home. He’s a real character 🐠  |

Here Rocki is cleaning the tank - he is a night feeder so we only really see him during the evening.  |

Welcome to the forum Rocki. chantel, did you know he is a rare Albino Bristlenose Pleco? They are nocturnal, which is why you only see him eat at night. He is fascinating. |

No I didn’t but recently googled it and found out he was an albino. Pleco - he was bought from eBay by the old manager he came in a aquarium with some cold water fish. They were getting very neglected at work so I took it on myself cleaning the tank and just general looking after them. Nobody liked him they said he was really ugly and did nothing but since me bringing him home we have found him to be a right little character- although when he sees us approach the tank he riddles in to his log 🪵 I only have 1 goldfish now my other one died so their is plenty of room for him although he doesn’t seem to swim he just shuffles on the bottom 🐠 Like you said lotsofcats he is fascinating 😀 |

Great that he now has a good home chantel . couldn't agree more. Well done you chantel on taking him on.  By the way, I love the bright pink shale. It's so colourful with all the greens. |

He seems fine thanks lotsofcats - don’t really see him much during the day 🐠he spends most of the day stuck inside of a rock that he’s took too 😂 When I get up in a morning sometimes I can catch him just lying on the bottom but if he sees me he will scurry back into his log. He becomes more active during the evening- I spend more time watching the fish than I do the tv lol 😂 |

We only have Rocki now 🥲we lost our longest living gold fish yesterday 🥲we have had him for 10 years (my son named him Tiddles)
I picked him out because he was white and very unusual so Rocki is enjoying having the tank to himself.
We have decided not to get any more fish whilst we have Rocki the Pleco because he may not take to another fish so it’s not worth the risk .
I would like some cold water fan tail goldfish but I have read you can only keep that variety together - I love the black ones.
It’s strange not seeing much activity in the tank but he is very active at night time.
Colleagues at work can’t believe we have still got him 😊
