Hi, it's Rachel here and I've signed up at last!!! (some of you will know me from the old your cat forum)
I know it's been a long time, but I know that Tonib has been keeping you all updated on Iona. Tonib has been gracious enough to send me a link to this forum and so I can read your comments, but I thought it was about time I registered myself and let you all know directly. I can't thank tonib and everyone enough for their support during this distressing time with Iona.
She was back at the vets on Friday night, and she's doing really well. The wound is healing up nicely and the swelling lumps around it are disappearing. She's also put on some weight so the vets are really pleased. Iona has got to back again next Friday for another check up, and she'll have a scan of her stomach and bowel area on the 13th June (already booked in for this).
We got a letter from Petplan today (insurance) to say that they've paid out the emergency vet charges of approximately £1500.00 (thank goodness!!!) our own vets fees were on Friday night visit £359.99 so with this visit, next week's visit and a scan too there might be a bit to go.
Ailsa is also doing well, however she only wants attention on her terms and keeps her distance, and personality wise is so different from Iona who is a talkative, and friendly people cat. Isn't it funny how two sisters can be so different. But they lie together sometimes, eat and play, so all's well at present.

Glad to see you made it here at last, Rachel The news on Iona & the insurance is really good. Hope next Friday & the future scan go just as well. If you have any questions about the new style forum then don't hesitate to ask, we've all been learning (& still are as the forum evolves ). Looking forward to hearing/seeing more of Iona & Ailsa as time goes on.

Great to see you've joined up Rachel, I've missed you.
I remember when the girls were new and we were all debating on the best pet insurance to take out. I bet many people who weren't going to bother changed their minds after hearing how much Alfies treatment cost. Now the expense of Iona. Just proves that insurance is NOT a luxury.
Keep us updated on the little girls progress.
Christine xx

Hi Rachel
Nice to see that you have made it on the new forum. So pleased that Iona is getting better. With reference to you saying that Iona and Ailsa are so different, my 2, Blackberry and Willow used to be - Blackberry was the really confident and friendly one whereas Willow would hang back and watch her and like Ailsa she was very aloof. In the past year Willow has gradually changed and got much more confident and now they are both loving and friendly. So, Ailsa may change like Willow did. I can't give you much hope for them ever being good though! mine are as bad as each other - both wicked but gorgeous.
