This growth has doubled in last 4 months , this photo was taken in May When we first went to see the vet he said his age and heart condition was against him for an anesetic . Went to see him again last Friday and he decided he could give Beau an injection to make him sleep, do the op ( 40 mins ) and then give him an injection to wake him up. Thats what we decided to do as this lump was really bothering him worse, and he used to make the carpet look like someone had been murderded , thats no joke , this was always when he was in my O.H care Grrrr, he never stopped him scratching at it and rubbing it on the carpet
on Flickr
Here he is last night with his small cone of shame , but he is being very good about wearing it as its a lot smaller than the one he had for his past ops
on Flickr
They made a nice neat job , the stitches will disolve over time , cone to be warn for min of a week so back to sleeping downstairs in the lounge again, but I dont mind Flickr

Oh that's so much better. It might make him a bit more sweet tempered now. Extra cuddles for the brave boy.

Oh that's so much better. It might make him a bit more sweet tempered now. Extra cuddles for the brave boy. We did have a panic moment yesterday Caz , he managed to un-click the hood and it was laying on the floor . Immediately wanted to paw at his nose , with a bit of coaxing back into the lounge ,and O.H holding him by his collar and massaging his shoulders , I managed to slip it under his chin and bring it back up round his neck and clip closed again, phew, mind you he did try and protest. If he had been given the other type of cone that you need to feed his nose and head thru I dread to think.I have now put some tape over the bits that click in π so π€ bless him and tied it to his collar too π

Oh, Beau that looks much better. Did they know what it was scallywag? Or have you had it sent for tests or anything? Pepper has one of those cones. She's forever popping it open and leaving it lying around (she's wearing it at the minute to stop her opening a sore bit back up as we're in the middle of trying to sort what appears to be a flea issue).

That made me laugh , just what I needed . I have put tape over the poppers , it has been popped by Beau , but its stayed in place π.Also tied the cone to his collar It was supposedly a wart . No never asked and they never offered to do a test on it. I am abad mum eh π

She's only wearing it around the house because she'll take herself off behind the chair and we can't see her nibbling away and that's when she causes the damage. Perhaps I should consider taping the poppers π€ No, not at all! I was just curious. I'm sure if they'd thought it was anything other than a wart they'd have suggested tests. Whatever it was, at least it's gone now π

He has been very good regarding the cone , and its not really bothered him at all. We still have it on as vets said keep it on till weekend. I will take it off tomorrow, and fingers crossed his skin has knitted together and that he doesnt start pawing at it

Good luck with it scallywag. I imagine it'll be a bit of a nightmare if he does start pawing at it. Pepper's cone has now been taped up too, because she's lost one of the poppers somewhere yesterday afternoon. I don't know where, she only had it on in the house and in the car on the way to hydrotherapy. Either way, hoping to have her cone off soon too because we've now treated the house with Indorex and all the dogs have had another round of flea treatment so hoping we've got on top of it!
