Took Mary to the vet last sunday and she has to have her teeth cleaned (vet quoted £104 for that) and also her bloods done at the same time which is going to cost about £170 all together, without tax so looking at about £200+. Will have to save up for that as I don't think insurance covers dentals and the vet said it doesn't need doing immediately.

Ouch, I agree the dental may not be covered by the insurance but I would have thought the blood tests would as I assume that's got nothing to do with her teeth. Osiris had his teeth cleaned January 2012, he was fine afterwards, just a little wobbly on his legs & eyes for a few hours Think the cost was about the same.

How much? nothing comes cheap at the vets that's for sure. I hope Mary will be okay when she has the treatment.

Most insurers don't cover dental unless its a s a result of accident and I think some illnesses. The blood tests should be covered though.

It is expensive to have their teeth descaled and polished, it is quite a big procedure I think for a cat, not like for humans. I think our vet charged us £60 for bloods done when Mia was ill. Our insurance covers for dental but only if we have yearly dental check ups which we do at the same time as vaccinations.

I know I paid the same for Vosje's teeth. They were removed, so less work.
