Oh crikey dutchkitties, both you & Misty in the wars! Hope the vascular treatment goes OK. I know that feeling of helplessness when they won't take the medicines, Penny can be the same. Luckily as I said before Penny does have moist food so the Ipakitine is not such an issue but it varies from day to day how much of that she eats. We do add a few more teaspoons of water to it & she usually has all of the moisture so hopefully gets some benefit but as discussed with the vet there's very little else we can do with a powder which is supposed to be sprinkled on food. I was hoping to hear good news of the liquid from you. How where you giving the drops? Is it possible to add it to her dried food or is that something she shares with the other 2? Currently we're crushing her Benazecare 1/2 tablet in a teaspoon or 2 or Applaws chicken or tuna each evening & every other evening she gets the 75mg aspirin crushed in as well. We sometimes have to keep encouraging her to eat it (stick it under her nose when in her basket or add some treats) but the chicken is doing better than the tuna at the moment. Mainly she gets it all but occasionally she doesn't finish & as its crushed it can be difficult to see whether any is left. The latest vidalta tablet (instead of felimazole) is going down in a Whiskas Temptation treat cut in half down the long side with the (little) soft centre removed, the tablet put in & sealed again with Bingham's Beef spread!! Can be a bit fiddly but at least it seems to work (for now). Good luck with getting Misty back to the vets & hope they can suggest something else.

Toni, you are doing a great and difficult job, but you succeed. Misty refuses to eat anything else than her I/D. When i added some drops she walked away. I left it for a long time but no success. The treat that Misty likes has still to be invented. I don't know if I'll take Misty with me to the vet. I want to discuss the problem. The powder is in her water bowl, so she went to the garden (which she usually does twice a year) and drank there. Now she is at the tap again.
She is not the easiest of cats.
(by the way: my treatment was hard and I must go twice a week and at least 10 times. It is In the middle of the country, so I need a friend to take me there, if she can get leave. She is a police woman)

Cia, that isn't true. I'm a rather nervous person. When they asked me at the clinic to mention my sicknesses/ailments, i advised them to get an A3 paper instead of an A4. They laughed.
But this is a cat forum. I can feel Misty's spinal column now. She is so thin.

The very fact you are a nervous person is testament to what struggles your up against - yet still prevail. A true marvel in my eyes.

I presume you can't administer any medicines directly into Misty dutchkitties. I'm really surprised that the vets havn't prescribed anything else for Misty - Penny was but on Benazecare tablets as well as the Ipakatine. But if you can't tablet her then that may be why. I hope you can get some advice from the vets. Despite the ailments etc. you obviously still have a good sense of humour - A3 indeed!!! & I agree with cia.

had blood tests last Tuesday. She is drinking all day long and has lost weight (in June 3,7> now 3.2); Yesterday I heard that she has kidney failure. As she already has I/D she cannot have K/D, so the vet will try a nutritional supplement first to stabilize it. Hope she will eat it. She is terrible. The vets named her a terrorist. Get it on Monday. They think it strange that she eats three times as much as the other two together. She ought to eat less with kidney problems. dutchkitties I love this photo , what a lovely memory one to have. When you posted this post I never LIKED it ( no I mean the thumbs up thingy ) because tge report with it was sad, but I am Liking it now for the photo content. Hope this makes sense and not offensive xx R.I.P darling Misty xx
