So what are you calling RTA? I'm tempted to suggest Bouncer

That's not promising news for Mack pixiepops, lets hope something can be done for him. heartpawprints idea of name for the latest addition is a good one, lets hope he bounces back this time. Nice to know he appreciates the human contact even after a couple of years on the streets

Well he appears to be answering to the name Fluffy so that is his name for now. The name does not suit him as he is a big cat who looks very masculine. Will try and get a photo once he is more settled. Hes not too sure whats going on but he was taken to the vets the moment he was picked up and treated. Hes been flea and worm treated, had xrays done (which thankfully have shown no other injuries or broken bones), he has been dematted and shaved, cleaned and neutered. He has scratches on his face and nose so we are bathing them and keeping them clean so that they can heal. Been giving him some physiotherapy type exercises to try and help strengthen his muscles in his back legs. He definitely appears to be enjoying home comforts though

Just a small update to let you know that Mittens in now safely in the other rescue and appears to have settled in their pretty much overnight! As we suspected, she didnt like being stuck indoors with the foster all of the time and wanted her own space. The fab news is that the shelter she is in has an outdoor pen area for her to go out if she desires, which she used within her first hour of being there. Although still a bit hissy, we managed to pet her for the first time Definitely the right decision made

I'm glad to see Mittens is now in the new rescue and has settled well. Hopefully now he'll relax more and learn to trust people. I can imagine what he must have been like, when we moved and tried to keep Flirty in until he was used to his new home, it just wasn't on. We managed to keep him in for three day then had to give in to him. He'd turned from a very approachable cat into a devil cat in those short days, but once he was let out he soon went back to his usual self.

Glad to hear that the new rescue seems to be working for Mittens, its amazing how cats can change if forced to stay in if they are used to being out. Roman settles unwillingly but is OK - Osiris is a nightmare!

You will work wonders with Mack. So glad Mittens has found her place. Some cats you cannot keep indoors.

She is definitely more happy. Only thing is the previous owner said she was an indoor cat, but based on what we have seen over the last few months is the complete opposite. She has come out of her shell so much since going to the new rescue, she even has another cat friend in beside her now and shes perfectly fine with him (despite us being told she doesnt like other cats). Shes been eating and drinking well an has been getting a lot of use out of the small outdoor run she has in her pen. So its definitely the right decision that has been made

Mittens must seem like a new cat. It's great that her needs were considered and everything was done to find out what she likes and dislikes. An unhappy cat is not a pleasant cat.

So update on Mack. We have been told he has borderline kidney function. Sad news is that his other eye is now going the same way the first eye did. The vet said they can administer drops, we could even try going forward with removing both eyes, however, she doesnt see Mack making it through surgery given the condition of his health in general. He is an elderly boy also (11 years old) so the vet has said we will go forward with a few more treatments to try and help but the likely hood is he may need to be put to sleep. Its not the news we were hoping for The RTA cat called Fluffy is now up for re-homing. He is doing really well is such a big friendly boy too so will make a fab family cat. Shelby's new home unfortunately fell through so she is still with us for re-homing. Good news is there is interest from 3 people. One wishes to re-home Fluffy, another Poppy and the lady who contacted us last night is interested in re-homing Shelby, however, wants to re-home 2 cats so is happy to take Poppy also if the other lady does not pass her home visit

Oh that is isn't the news you wanted for Mack. Although I suspect that our Roman (also aged 11) might argue with the "elderly gentleman"! If the likelihood is of him not surviving the op then there isn't any point in putting him through it but still worth a try of the drops. On a very practical (possibly uncomfortable) financial note you also have to balance your funds Sounds positive for rehoming 3 cats
