Oh crikey lotsofcats - hope your hubby gets his shoulder sorted out soon otherwise you'll be in chaos. Glad all the cats are safe. Kiba Khan knew where he was going by the sound if it even if he had to make his own way for a change

Making very slow progress - I can see that hubby has got the door in place and the mesh on it but another side and the roof part to go on before it can be partitioned off from the old part of the pen. I'm not even mentioning it to hubby, I just let him plod on with it. I wasn't impressed with the roof Perspex sheets, they look really flimsy to me, but they were quite expensive and are guaranteed for 10 years. My daughter's boss told hubby to be careful cutting them and drilling them as they can be very brittle.

we used Perspex over a part of our decking area to make it shower proof if we wanted to sit out, yes can be brittle, we also put a strip of bambo type stuff under it first to provide shade lotsofcats x

We are getting somewhere at last! The new part of the pen is nearly finished, complete with Perspex roof to keep the cats dry when it rains. We just need some more shelves for the cats to sit on. Hubby worked on putting the roof part on for nearly 5 hours yesterday (with lots of swearing) - I had to get all of the cats in and watch the door as hubby kept coming going back and fore and leaving the back door open - so used to the cats being out all day. The cats love the new part, especially the shelf. Bossy boots Kiba-Khan thinks it is his own personal shelf. I put the cats back in there yesterday and Blackberry was sat on the shelf and Kiba-Khan slowly walked up the ladder to the shelf and hit poor Blackberry so that she fell off the shelf backwards!! She was okay though. The door that we took off the front of the pen is going to be used to shut off the old part of the pen and will stay in place when the old part is completed - I think it will be handy to be able to shut off part of the pen to clean it when the cats are in the other side, or Toffee will be able to go in the one part and the other 6 in the new part at the same time.

That's real progress. Good to have two parts to enter.
The perspex roof on the little pen I had for my former stray is still solid after 12 years, though discoloured.

Sounds like it's really progressing lotsofcats. Kiba-Khan sounds a right bossy boots, poor Bramble it won't have been a light tap from him, glad she's OK. You definitely need more shelves.
