SOMEHOW he walks so much better on a collar!! He moves better, he stops less, when he does stop he doesn't resist as much when you want him to walk. This might only because he isn't used to walking on a collar. When we first switched Finn from a collar to a harness he didn't pull at all and it was lovely! Sadly, as soon as he got used to learning how to pull in a harness he was back to his old ways again. Hope it lasts for you though! Neither of my dogs really care what they are walked in, as long as they're walked! Haha I really hope this is not the case. Touch wood he is still really good with his collar.

Having always had labs I've always walked them on collars although with their strength I've needed to occasionally use halti head collars to Sid the training process. The only time I use a harness style is for the car seatbelts I bought them, found my last lab was great in my back seat with a belt on and these 2 are too big for a wee Astra boot and I can't afford a bigger car so they use a harness seatbelt. Thats the type of harness I walk Beau on sometimes, one that slots into the seatbelt buckle, I don't use the halti over the nose, if they are not fitted right you can damage their eyes , too many times I see people walking their dogs and one of the poor dogs eyes is being forced shut It drives me daft when haltis aren't being fitted or used correctly. I had a argument last week with my sister over what she shrinks the use of them is for. I'm just glad she's too lazy to walk my dogs. aparently the gentle leaders tend to be better for riding up but I haven't tried them,

Best headcollar IMO for not riding up and getting into eyes is the Canny Collar. I've tried a Gentle Leader and it gave Milo an eye infection because it kept rubbing it

Earl doesn't get walked on a harness - he does on a slip lead which he seems to like! His harness is used as a seatbelt for travelling and he has not showed any huge signs of hating it, so...
