Hi, I just relocated to the UK from the USA with my 3-year-old indoor male cat, and I cannot find a litter that I like! I am used to a much wider variety of brands, and heavily scented or scent-eliminating varieties. I have used Fresh Step and Arm&Hammer in the past with great results, but just about every litter I've bought so far over here is very basic clay clumping litter, no scent, and honestly I cannot stand the smell of the plain clay litter- I have to completely empty the box every day just to be able to walk into a room without gagging. I've never had this problem with the scented and odor-eliminating litters I used in America! Help!
Thanks!

Hi I have two cats and have just started to use a litter called Worlds Best it comes in a green packet or Red .I use the green well not me but the cats I should say.
It does not smell I was using the clay type stuff. It is very light in weight and you don't have to dispose of it when one cleans tray out. you just remove the soiled bits which one does daily anyway. When it is tray cleaning day I just remove the soiled bits obviously. Place the remainder in a clean container. Wash tray I have two. Then put back what is in clean container. it is dearer than clay litter but one isn't throwing it away as I used to with clay litter.
You need to shop around for cheapest price if you follow my post . I have mentioned where I found cheapest,
I suggest you get small bag at first and see how your cat gets on. I gradually worked it into my cats trays and had no problems @gillycat told me about it.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I find that the wood chip pellets type cat litter masks smells much better than the clay type litter.

We've recently started using clumping litter as an alternative to wood pellet & it seems to be popular with the cats - not so sure about their ability to track it around despite the mats in front of the covered trays. We first tried Sivocat which is very good & has baby powder added to reduce odour but not cheap. We're now trying Pets at Home Ultra Performance Clay Clumping litter, again works fine but also tracks a lot! Interestingly one cat who normally doesn't use a litter tray unless forced to be in, has actually come in to use the litter tray since's we've had some none wood pellet ones!

World's Best for me - everytime! No smells, no tracking, lasts for absolute ages - I just cannot recommend it highly enough!

Welcome to the forum! I have just started using BioKat ( t.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/cat_litter/clumping_litter/biokats/29990 ) and it's amazing! When I go near the litter tray now it actually smells nice, the clay smells lovely. The cats seem to really like it too. I'm thinking about using their plant fibre one www.biokats.info/en/produkte/new-plant-fibre-litter/biokats-organic.html though as it sounds a bit more environmentally friendly, I'll have to look into it though. The main reason I use BioKats is that it's a German brand made in Germany, and I'm trying to buy more locally (I live in Germany), it's the best cat litter I've ever had though, and I have gone through a lot of cat litter hahaha. Edit: BioKats is available in the UK via Zooplus though and possibly elsewhere online, I've not looked though as my local supermarket stocks it.

I'm intrigued @gillykat, what's the basis of World Best that it doesn't track? Mind you ours managed to scatter wood pellet - when Roman goes to the cattery they changed him to a covered litter tray as he was scattering the litter everywhere!!!

Mind you ours managed to scatter wood pellet - when Roman goes to the cattery they changed him to a covered litter tray as he was scattering the litter everywhere!!! I feel your pain. The cat litter is use doesn't track, but that doesn't matter as Mieze and Carlotta (not sure who the culprit is) seem to throw half the cat litter out of the box when cleaning afterwards. Although to be fair with this new cat litter there is a lot less on the floor outside the covered box that when we used Catsan (standing on those first thing in the morning is agony!!), so it must not be as easy to throw. I suspect I will still be finding bits of Catsan litter around the flat for many months to come.

I can only assume Worlds Best doesn't get tracked around our flat because it's made up of very fine 'crumbs' and so doesn't stick to the Girls' paws....even Chilli's fluffy feet! I tried to economise about a year ago with Pets @ Home's cheaper version (Cat's Best I think it's called?) but it drove me DEMENTED because it was slightly bigger crumbs and they were being brought into the living room and even the bedroom and it was annoying to stand on them and, more annoyingly, even after just 24hrs my carpets looked as though I hadn't hoovered for weeks!!!
