There have been spates of it in Scarborough.Am sure if culprits had been discovered they would have been lynched by dog owners.

Thanks for sharing Caz! Its terrible though isn't it? Getting worse this! Animals don't get the respect they deserve anymore, in fact if you think about it, they never really have by all people, unfortunately! Poor dog!

I had on purpose not said much. To say that things like this make my furious is an understatement.
Just wish the culprit could be found. Need a few to be caught and be hammered hard by the law to hopefully put some of these crack pots off these horrid painful methods of killing the furry and much loved member of someones family.
There are so many of this kind of crime going on and it is disgusting.
Not that 6 months in jail or Β£20,000 fine cuts it! What about both of the above (fine should be a lot more) and giving them something that makes them have severe pain, sickness etc (but not lethal obviously) so they actually can understand what suffering they have caused to an innocent animal.

Update www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-surrey-22183965Why do I have the feeling of closing the door once the horse has bolted! Police patrols increased after the incident wont bring the dog back! Find the person who did this is more important!! Yes I am bitter and angry about this.
