I just dropped Kiba-Khan off at the vets for his operation. He was not a happy boy not being able to have any food since 7pm last night. As a treat I let him go upstairs last night for an hour. This morning I gave him his usual brushing and he suddenly lashed out at my hand with his claws - it really hurt and I was holding my other hand over it for ages. When I looked it was only 3 little dots! - it's still hurting like mad now. I have to phone the vet at 2pm to see if he's ready for collection.

Ouch , Wishing him a speedy recovery once home, and that all goes well for him. Are they still only doing the one eye Jenny ?

Yes scallywag, I think they are only doing the one eye as the other one is fine at the moment. My hand is swollen now and I can see a bruise forming - Kiba-Khan doesn't know his own strength

Grrrrr! Phoned the vets at 2pm to see if Kiba-Khan was ready to be collected - they haven't even done the operation yet!! They said phone back at 4pm. I get to stay in work for an extra 2 hours to wait. I have no food with me and I'm starving....cup of tea it is then.

GRRRRRR! Hubby phoned me in work at 3.10pm to say that the vets had phoned and I had to go and collect Kiba-Khan as his operation was cancelled. When I went there the vet explained that their anaesthetic machines has been tested and one had been condemned. They could have squeezed Kiba-Khan in after 4pm but because he is over 12 they would have needed to have monitored him for a few hours after that. Rebooked for Friday 14th. Then my phone rang on the way home and it was my boss asking me to go back into work to pay the VAT bill as a customer had phoned to say they had just paid us. What a day! Poor Kiba-Khan was starving.
