Hey guys! I'm pretty sure you all know(seeing as I have been going on about it ) that me and Scoobs had our first agility show on Saturday! I have some pictures at the end of the post so don't read the whole thing if you don't want to! It's probably pretty boring but I didn't think you guys would mind!
We had to get up at 5:30 to meet my trainer at 6:00 and I slept badly the night before, only getting about 3 hours so that sucked! We got to the showground earlier than we expected at about 7:30 as the roads were so empty but that gave us time to give the dogs a quick walk and a run around. My first run was AMAZING, it was jumping which I ran it NFC but I think had I run it for competition we could have been placed, however I'm glad I ran it NFC because Scooby broke his wait at the start (it was my fault, I was so nervous I don't think I said it clearly enough so I don't think he understood) and had it been for competition I wouldn't have been allowed to take him back to re-start. We went clear in that run which was a huge to surprise to both me and my trainer! We were both so proud of him My next run was the steeplechase I which I ran for comp but I think we were E'd for a refusal(my fault), then an agility round which we ran NFC and practiced our contacts. We'd only entered three classes at the start of the day but decided to enter another three as he was doing so well and still full of beans! We entered steeplechase II, junior jumping and junior agility. The second steeplechase was good, we were E'd again though for missing a jump(my fault once again! I didn't run hard enough along the final stretch and Scoobs turned to look for me before the last jump, but I'm glad he looked for me! XD ), we had our junior agility next which I ran NFC again to practice our contacts, and finally, our junior jumping which I ran for competition but on that one we were E'd for a couple of missed jumps and refusals, me and Scoobs were both so tired after our busy day and it was the same ring as before with the first half of the course the same but the second half different and no matter how many times I walked it, I just couldn't get it into my head that the course had changed, I think only 1 dog of the 5 maxi's who entered went clear (junior runs are done by the age of the handler, not the ability of the dog so the course was set for champs). But I was very proud of my boy for such a fab day!
Now for the bit you all want PICCIES!
