Poor little Alfie is out of sorts. He's off his wet food (all of it, even Sheba Prawn domes - his very favourite) and is very mopey. He wants cuddles all of the time, very nice for me but not normal. He is also quite cross with the kittens and has just spat at Poppy when she tried to cuddle up to him, and then rushed out the garden to sit sulking on the fence. He has been going a bit further afield for the past week and has been back to the woods at least twice. Do you think he might be missing Charlie? How long do cats grieve for? He's not been sick and is still eating the dried food. I might pop him down to the vets on Tuesday just to make sure there is nothing seriously wrong. I can't help but worry about him, he's already been through so much in his short life.

He probably is still grieving. How long has it been? I'm not sure what to say apart from vet check which you are doing next week. Does he like to play? Could get him interested in games and have sessions with him, make him feel happy and forget for a while. How about boxes and paper bags to play with? Putting favourite treats in some of the boxes to find??

Molly missed Max for 6 months. She was ok though. Just called for him every now and then. Good idea to get Alfie check out at the vets though.

I agree a vet visit is probably in order. I've no experience of grieving cats so can't comment on that. But the weather could also be upsetting him. I wonder if the cold could be affecting his healed leg? That's a gorgeous picture of him the ginger colour really show up.

Poor wee man animals, just like humans, grieve. I am sure he still misses his pal, much like we miss a loved one when they leave us. The vet does seem to be the best thing just to make sure there is nothing underlying. Get better soon Alfie young lad, and no hissy-spits at the young 'uns now.

My Westie, Charlie Boy grieved for my Akita, Ink that passed away last year for two weeks, he wasn't eating properly, was wanting to be focused on and given attention, etc all the time! He wasn't excited for walks and wanted to be left alone now and then! He was also snapping at my other dogs which wasn't like him at all, we took him for a check up and the vet confirmed that he was grieving and was feeling stressed and alone like a human would. Still, I think you should take him for a check up, try not to worry too much, I hope Alfie is okay soon though! Best of luck! Stay strong little man! x
