Well at the time i wasn't too keen on the name SINDY but it did suit her so we decided to stick with it.

Jasper wasn't really a rescue, he was well loved but the family circumstance had changed and they wanted to rehome him for his happiness. We kept his name, however, if he had been named Fifi Trixiebell ir something, we would have changed it Fortunately he had a good name!

charlottte - I've always thought of that counting as rescuing too Several of my animals have been from situations like that.

Although not a rescue Coopers breeder called him Biggs before we picked him. Bailey was a kitten rescue so I got to name her. And as it was 14 years ago I can't remember what Gerri and Alice were called when we got them from the Blue Cross. They were 8 months old and had been in the Blue Cross since they were 8 weeks old so must have had names but I have no idea?!?

My Bramble who is a girl was a boy called Milo (well, they said she was a boy!).Kai Ruki, although not a rescue was named Gin Ricky by his breeder. An interesting thread. That sounds all too familiar! My cat was going to be an Oscar, until we took her to the vets and the vet said she was actually a female, so we named her Polly. I think she was nick named Smiley at the rescue. Winnie (my old dog) came from a family home before she was with us, though things were going on which meant she had to be re-homed. We decided to keep her name, though I don't know if we were going to change it or not. Alfie didn't have a name at the rescue.. I'm not sure why, but they didn't seem like the sort of rescue to name their dogs bectil

bectil - Lewis my bunny came from that same kind of rescue. I think its kind of sad they had lots of dogs and cats, bunnies and guineas and even poultry, but none had names.

My girl was called 'Jessie J' after someone on Facebook named her. But she's Jess or Jessie now

Georgia (my avatar) was called Angel but I didn't want to keep that. Floyd was always Floyd and I named Ruppee myself. His Sunday name is Rupert.

Tell me about it, Charlie was originally Cindy. Out rabbit Penny turned out to be a boy much to the dismay of our other rabbit Milly.
