Almost every Friday and Saturday night, we are kept up until around 3am by thumping bass music by some extremely inconsiderate tw*ts on our road. Just to clarify, we live in a detached house, down a (once) quiet country road and most of the neighbours are lovely.
This is ruining our lives. As a lot of you know, Finn is extremely noise phobic and he cannot even toilet in his own garden when this is happening. He just cowers under the table or squishes himself up against us and tries to sleep. I really don't know what to do I can't keep living like this, seeing my poor little boy so terrified all of the time - within his own safe place. It's setting us back with getting him over things, because it's not like we can know when they're going to do it or block the sound.
I'm too afraid to go and talk to them because I have no idea what they're like. I'm a 24 year old female, and I would feel pretty vulnerable going up to their house and asking them to please turn the music down. I've considered putting a note through the letterbox, but I'm worried someone would see me
I've made a formal complaint to the council, but by the looks of other people's comments who have been through the same, the council do absolutely nothing - even though it is their duty and the LAW for them to do something about it.
I'm terrified that if I complained to them, they might do something to the house or even worse, to the dogs. I just feel so helpless and failed by the system that is supposed to be in place to protect innocent people just wanting to live their lives in peace.
