Plagued by midges and other nasty biting insects? Our daughter who spends a lot of time out in the country and her friends swear by, I kid thee not, a brew called Skin So Soft Original made by Avon! It is absolutely brilliant at repelling insects (described as "Awesome" in one review ). It comes in a push button spray bottle and resembles water. It is lightly scented and dries quickly to leave no deposit. I assume it is designed as a skin softener but it certainly works to repel biting insects - it is allegedly used by the SAS for this purpose. There is a lot on the internet about it if you have any doubts (try Googling Avon Skin so Soft insect repellent).

Might have a look at that as biting insects seem to target me. It would be interesting to investigate the ingredients & see what they're using

Yep, this is very well known and advertised in the Highlands of Scotland It's rare to find a shop that doesn't sell it! Even completely random shops, sell SSS over other insect repellents.

Avon must be very pleased with it being so many shops as that a good advert for their products which as far as I knew was only sold by door-to-door & party sales people.

Yup Cotswold outdoor shops stock it for midges
I use a spray from the wee midge company that's lots of good stuff and can be sprayed over the dogs coat too, just ordered more since the last bottle I somehow managed to explode in my bag oops!

Makes you wonder what they put in there... :s Isopropyl palminate, alcohol denat, aqua, parfum, BHT, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, tocopheryl acetate, hydoxycitronella, coumarin, linalool, citronellol, limonene. Hope you find this of interest - it was a sod of a job typing this and reading tiny type on the bottle!
