Can readers get their dog's photo on the front cover of Your Dog Magazine? And if so, how? I would love to see my Earl's face on the front cover of a future issue!
Thanks, BT.

You could try contacting the editor I suppose, but I don't think that's really something they do. It's a shame, because it would make the magazine that bit more personal (something I feel it's lacking these days), as long as the picture was high enough quality.

Most magazines use image agencies to source their front cover picture, usually it's relevant to the magazine, or an article inside. Also the picture layout is important, there has to be room for the mag title and other front cover content It could be worthwhile sending them an email to ask though.

Agreeing with Avansa, I don't think it is something they do and I second that it is a shame, because it would make it more fun and personal for readers. It s definitely lacking in 'personal' recently, as are most dog magazines to be honest! If I were you, I would send an email because you never know

I don't know about the cover shots, but you can send photos via Twitter for the gallery. But they get sent thousand so it's a bit of a lottery weather they pick your photograph.

I think they use like professional model dogs for the cover tbh. But its worth a shot if you really want Earl on the cover BT. I have sent several photos in for the gallery and still haven't been chosen Hopefully I will one day

I have sent an email to the editor (for YD, DT, and DM!) and am now awaiting a reply to my Cover Dogs question!

No need to have Earl on a cover of a mag. It's enought that he is here and we love him, don't we children?

I don't quite understand why you have brought children into this lol Anyway, I just thought it would be nice to see him on a mag cover. Just something nice that brings pleasure for people who know him to see.

The 'don't we children' is something from a tv program some years back, LOL.

I got a reply via email and they said they only use professional photographs for the cover, but one magazine said they were going to use two of my letters for the letters page so that's great
