This week has been odd in Carlisle. In my next door neighbour's garden we had 2 hedgehogs snuffling about in Thursday. Just now I've come into the kitchen from the garden to find a toad in the corner. No signs of injury so not a "gift". Luckily next door have a little pond so we rescued it and it plopped in. I didn't get that close but they were saying it looked dry poor thing. Has anyone else had any strange animal things going on in this heat wave? Must say the novelty's worn off with this heat wave for me.

Think I read somewhere on here that Toads don't live in water, only frogs. Maybe that's why it looked dry ? Weather here today has gone right back to cold cloudy and I am wearing a jumper today heartpawprints

Scallywag I am jealous of the jumper need! I noticed pre toad that one of the cat's water bowls was muddy and I couldn't understand why. I'm guessing mr toad must have plopped in that first.

Haven't noticed anything with the wild life here. Sounds like the toad was drying off in the corner, but why it was indoors in the first place I've no idea, unless it was cooler.
