Had to take Jasper to the vet today, at short notice. He did something today in the park. don't know exactly he did, but one minuet he was fine and went down the bank to the river, and the next he came back up and was tripoding. vets had a look at him, and say's that his hip isn't at an angle to suggest he's dislocated his hip, and he doesn't believe it's his knee, so he's given him an anti inflammatory injection, and also some loxicom plus some painkilling tablets to take over the next week and he wants to see him again next Friday, but if there is no improvement bay Monday/Tuesday he'll have him in on Wednesday to x-ray and find out what we're really dealing with. Poor lad, he keeps trying to walk on all four leg, but it's just not happening.

Poor Jasper, let's hope its just a strain that the Loxicom etc. will ease along with the painkillers & he'll soon be back to normal & no x-ray needed cazypops

Thank you scallywag and tonib , it's such a worry as you both know. The way he was dragging his foot when he did it, I really thought he'd broke it, or at best done his cruciate. but he's doing a bit better. He's on complete rest for the next week, god only knows how we're going to manage that....he was asleep in front of the radiator earlier, and I heard a noise, and when I looked the little sod was up stairs. I'll just have to keep the fire on. It's the only thing that will encourage him to lay down and rest. (god help my gas bill) BUT! if it keeps him quiet, that's what I'll do. I'm just glad that OH doesn't go back to work until the 2nd, and I don't go back till the following Monday.

I know what you mean about the gas bill, cazypops as when Roman was incarcerated in the dining room & conservatory combination for those 12 days before Xmas I moved the thermostat into the dining room as the conservatory doesn't have much heating in & can really chill the other part down. As a result the rest of the house got rather hot!!! How's Jasper doing today?

He's doing ok, still tripoding but putting his foot down a little more when he's walking. But my god, we need eyes in the back of our heads trying to keep him rested. I don't know about the vet giving us painkillers for his, he should have given us tranquilisers for him too.
