Thank you, his ear is a little better today, so I think the Metacam is doing its job. I know the vet said his ear was a bit dirty, and that could be the cause of Jasper shaking his head, but I was able to have a proper look at it this morning, and it looked clean to me. Will still use the ear drops just to be on the safe side though.

Took Jasper back to the vets today. His ear as started looking a lot more puffy. Vet says it feels like it's starting to heal, and it's looking more swollen because all the fluid in the ear flap is distributing across the flap and not just in one stop. We have to take him back in two weeks time, in the morning and if it's still the same size or bigger, then he'll have to have an op to clean in out. so no food for Jasper after 8 o'clock the night before just in case.

Poor Jasper cazypops. Hopefully the vet is right and Jasper's ear is starting to heal. Fingers crossed that an operation isn't necessary.

How's Jasper's ear after the weekend cazypops? Even if it is healing it must be sore for him

How's Jasper's ear after the weekend cazypops ? Even if it is healing it must be sore for him I can't decide if it's still the same size or a little less full. I don't think it's hurting him now like it was, the first time I touched it he yelped. Now he will rub his ear up against you. If he dose need to have an op on it, I might ask the vet to x-ray his hip while he's knocked out, just to see how it's doing compared to what it was like 6 years ago.

Seems as if Jasper's ear is a bit better. I hope it continues to improve. Good idea to ask the vet to do an x-ray on Jasper's hip if he's got to be out for an op.

OH took jasper to the vets this morning, and he's happy with the progress that has been made naturally, so the op is on hold for now. He's to go back again in 3 weeks. 🙂

A week ago we found Jasper kept licking his paw, and when we got to have a look at it this is what we found. 2021-07-25 14.17.12 by Cazypops, on Flickr By Thursday it was looking like this, 2021-07-29 14.45.13 by Cazypops, on Flickr So I booked him in at the vets on Friday. 2021-07-30 13.18.32 by Cazypops, on Flickr Now £50 lighter, two lots of tablets and some cream plus having to get some Epsom salts to bath it with twice a day, it's a lot better. Vet thinks it's an inter digital cyst but it's possible that he's either been pricked by something or been bitten. What ever it was, he's now on the mend and the swelling has gone down.
