Curious as to wither anyone has to give daily medication to their pets and if so do you buy from your vet ?

I don't scallywag but if I did I think I would look in to getting a prescription and getting from a vet site online. For one offs this doesn't seem to be any cheaper but for on going treatment I think it would work out better on the purse.

As already posted on another thread I do give regular meds to our cats.
Currently all the prescription only meds I get from the Vet and can discuss prices with them but they can't always match internet prices as they don't order the volume. However I will be looking seriously at Penny's Loxicom (Metacam) as just worked out how much cheaper I can get it, even taking into account the vet's prescription charge.
I'll also be looking at the Profender wormer & Advocate Flea treatment as well. We already get Frontline (or similar) & Drontal from the internet also Zyklene.
Penny has one medicine that we can't get on the internet as its only available through vets, its Nutraquin a joint supplement.

Beat you scallywag, Loxicom for Β£8.59 & free delivery but only if order over Β£29 otherwise Β£1.99 (from VETUK) or Metacam for Β£7.50 with free delivery from both AnimedDirect & Vet-Medic. Haven't heard of vetscriptions before so will have a look at them (link worked)

Molly is on daily meds for both her HCM and Hyperthyroidism. I get mine from the vets as because she has been on her heart meds for 12 years now and the vets are very good at not asking to see her as much as they might and keeping my check up payments low, I feel I don't want to rock the boat and get her meds online. It swings and roundabouts really as they could well up the amount of times she needs to be seen and the check up charge too. As I only have Molly to pay out for now, I am happy with things the way they are.

I get a prescription for Sausages Metacam. Even though our vet charges an eye watering Β£17.90 for the prescription I can get 30mls for Β£14.99, totalling just under Β£33. The vet charges Β£40.50 for 30mls.
