First of all this forum seems to have lots of friendly people around ! My cat is named Lola (tried to upload a photo but advised the limit has been reached!). I have created a line of cat collars on Kickstarter and would like to get some feedback and backing if anyone likes them Many thanks Lewis, and Lola. P.S if this isn't allowed or in the wrong place please let me know. Thanks,

I'm not keen on them personally, sorry. It looks quite heavy and not that pretty to be honest. Just my opinion though, I'm sure some people will love them

That's not a problem, I appreciate your honesty . The collars only weigh in at 25grams so are very light indeed. However, taste is a personal preference as you rightly say Thanks for taking the time to reply. Lewis.

Welcome to the forum lewisrymer, look forward to hearing more about Lola. Although the space for photos uploaded from computers has been reached, you can still upload photos from a host service such as photobucket or flickr. There is a Help/FAQ index here and that has some advice on doing that. Should have said I'm Toni with 4 rescue cats aged between 4 & 14.

Was wondering about the weight of the collars myself - that seems a bit heavy - although would depend on the cat I suppose. Especially bearing in mind that there are various devices that are being added to the collars, such as loc8tor, GPS recording or tracking devices & cat flap activators, never mind the bells & tags.
Also how rust proof are they for outdoor cats?

Thanks for that Toni!
Well a standard collar from Pets at Home for example can weigh anywhere between 15 - 25grams and flea collars can be up to 50grams! They wouldn't be suitable for kittens mind, but my cat doesn't seem to mind and the safety clasps definitely work as she has already lost one!
As for the the rusting, the collars are made from lightweight aluminium that is corrosion/rust resistant as it is. With the coloured collars, these are even more resistant to rust as they are anodized aluminium.
Hope i've answered your questions!
Lola is now 7 years old, and is surprisingly very energetic! You wouldn't believe how long it took me to get those photos of her!

They do look stylish, my girls are indoors so don't wear collars. My worries would be; -Would fur catch in the chain, like arm hair in a watch strap? (not that I'm extra hairy! But it does happen...and ouch!) -Cold in winter?
If I saw it in a shop and I wanted a collar I would look. I wouldn't order from the 'tinternet though as would want to be a 100% happy that they are ok (look and touch makes me happy!).

I quite like them and if I needed a collar I would consider it. My lot don't wear collars though. Like vonnie said, would they get very cold in the winter and on the flipside, quite hot in summer?
