Wind was horrific here yesterday, but seemed to have given way to torrential rain overnight and most of this morning. Then the rain went and the wind came back this afternoon. I had a pretty dicey drive to take the dogs to their massage appointments. Thankfully the roads were quiet and I could avoid some of the worst floods.

We've had wind this morning but this afternoon was rain some heavy. although not as bad as Ajax by the sound of it
She lives on a hill with her row of houses being along the hill & the steps are a long set down the hill from them to the next one down. The street referred to runs down the hill until it flattens out.

Saturday was awful. The rain and wind didn't let up all day. Yesterday was sunny and windy so I went walking with my friend. We had several showers of rain on us but loads of people were out walking, enjoying a bit of sunshine after Saturday's awful rain. Saw 2 trees down on our walk.

17C yesterday at 5:30 12C today but at least its dry but the weather forecast doesn't auger well for a dry Friday although the weekend might be dry. I need to do some pruning & then I can do a climbing plant arch repairs, also some clematis pruning as ours is merging with next doors over the fence & the weight is damaging the fence combined with the winds we had! I was hoping to do it tomorrow as I only discovered the arch damage yesterday & was out today & will be out on Saturday at a cat show.

It actually hasn't rained lotsofcats, but has been overcast all day so didn't risk it, as knowing my luck it would rain as soon as I got to the critical point with putting the arch back together!

Yesterday was the most beautiful sunny day with a pure blue sky. We took Kobi for a walk and saw 2 pairs of twin black lambs in the field that weren't born the day before - they are so cute - I want one! It's a nice day today but with a chilly breeze.

Not a bad 2 days - on Monday I got the clematis pruned back - I hope it survives!!!! I need to check further but I think the fence may be basically OK as I found a thick piece of clematis had gone between the fence post & the slats forcing the rail away from the post so perhaps it just needs re-nailing. I need to check the post 1st though. The arch seems to be beyond repair so will need to get a new one - its been in place for well over 11 years , we put in sometime after 2000 when we moved in & before we had the garden redone in 2008! Could be interesting trying to untangle the clematis, honeysuckle & climbing roses & then attach them back to a new one!!! Maybe time to replace some of them Today was still dry but cooler & I mowed the lawn for the 1st time this year - it really needed it!

Hubby did the lawns on Sunday - 2nd time this year. The grass is growing fast. Our clematis is going wild and needs a bit of untangling, like yours tonib. It's in the corner of the front garden and grows up to wall to way past the bedroom window. Next door has a lovely free display every year as it's draped itself over their fence and down to the floor. I can see a nest inside the clematis - I think it was blackbirds in it last year. We once had wrens nest in there. Lovely weather again - frosty in the mornings but really sunny all day.
