Kitten collage by anna-amber, on Flickr We adopted three little rescue kittens. Tillie, Tara & Toby. Tillie & Tara (the two black ones) are sisters. They were handed into the vets to be put to sleep. Then Toby was born at the vets. His Mum was in for boarding, and when they came in the next morning she had given birth to kittens!! All of their other litter mates have found loving homes too. They are all moggies, 6 weeks old and coming home tomorrow!!!! We are very excited at the idea of becoming cat owners More photos to follow.....

I'm pleased for you, the only comment is that I am under the impression that kittens shouldn't leave their mum until they are 8 weeks, but if they were going to be put down... Good on you for taking them on. We look forward to all your photos and updates. Kittens are fun.

Thanks everyone for all your lovely comments Yes, heartpawprints, it certainly isn't ideal for them to leave their Mum's quite so young. Tillie & Tara came in without their Mum so not much could be done there and then Toby's Mum went back to the owner, but apparently she couldn't cope with kittens too so the vets said they'd re-home them (thankfully not PTS) We have some goats milk to give them as a supplement to their food. Anything else we may need to do differently because they are so young? The Vets said there where loads of kittens looking for homes in this area and they were really struggling to find homes for them. It was love at first sight for us!!! Now with us taking those three though they are all adopted. We are very excited for tomorrow to come!!!!!! I will take loads of pictures (maybe even a few videos if I can make it work)

Before I read the circumstances, I also thought: too young. If they need additional food, on Zooplus you can find all you need, cheaper than in most of the shops. They are lovely. So small.Hope your dogs behave.

They are all gorgeous x I had Molly and Max at 5 weeks and after a little trial and error, they went onto Hill's kitten food and never looked back. They remained on Hill's food thereafter.

Think some of the forum breeders would be best placed for kitten advice. Good luck and I hope all works well for you all.

We have changed our minds (not about the kittens don't worry!!!) but about the spelling of Tilly's name. So it is Tilly instead of Tillie. Hoping our dogs will be friendly too them, although to be honest I don't expect a problem. Excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's great news AnnaAmber they are very cute. Did I read in another thread from you that they are not living in your home or was that someone else?? If so where are they living? I look forward to seeing more photos of as they grow.

gladys No, they aren't living in the house (some of the family are allergic) but have a pen in the garage at the moment with a heat lamp. When they are older the plan is they will be free to roam during the day, and can sleep in the goats shed (or hay barn or garage!)
