Hi all. Picked up kitten yesterday. Think we are going to go with the name Simmi sow ill carry on with that name although it may change! She's settled in very well, eating+drinking+purring+cuddling+ very playful! Elsa is not overly chuffed. She's growling a lot at her but if Simmi is doing something and has her back to Elsa, Elsa will go and sniff her bum. When Simmi turns around Elsa either growls or runs away. Yesterday she kept trying to bop her like she does with anything she's not sure on. Claws were in luckily! I think it's a not too bad start, hoping she stops growling in a day or so. She's behaving normally otherwise, wants cuddles etc. I'm trying to keep routine as much as poss. Simmi isn't bothered at all and keeps trying to say hello. Elsa generally runs away! Today I bought a playpen (tomorrow my mate is lending me one with a lid) so I can keep them in the same room safely overnight untill Elsa settles a bit and I'm confident they're ok together.
How am I? A nervous wreck!!! I give out advice all the time and knew what to expect but I've been quite het up. Don't know why but having a tough time convincing my belly that all's ok!

So pleased that Simmi is home with you. Elsa will be fine with her soon - they will probably be best of friends within a week. In the meantime, try not to worry too much about them - just make sure Elsa has lots of fussing and treats.

Hope your stomach settles down, although you'll probably have new stresses for a while, not just with the introductions but as Simmi explores & gets into everything! Glad to hear Simmi's not phased by anything & appears to be settling down well.

Sounds not too bad. It's only been a few days. No fights like here. I've been a nervous wreck for 6 weeks now.
Simmi is a good name.

Hopefully they will pals soon. Ivan is still hissing and batting Ted after 2 years so i don't think they will ever be pals. June.x.

Thanks for your comments folks. It's been a nervous couple of days! Yesterday Elsa started to chase and bop Simmi quite hard, it really looked nasty at times. Last night Simmi stayed in the same room as Elsa but in a very large cage to keep her safe. This morning things seem to be quite good! They have been chasing and playing for a solid hour and a half. Elsa sometimes seems rough but Simmi isn't bothered. Luckily Elsa has some quirky traits that she does when she plays so I know it is play. It's very funny to see Elsa being chased by Simmi. She still is unsure at times, especially when Simmi goes up to her and rubs against her but now Elsa doesn't growl or try to smack her. BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBMMMM, (sorry, Simmi walked on the laptop-obviously she had something to say so I've left it although I'm not sure on the meaning!) Fingers crossed...seems to be going well! I'm going to keep Simmi in her bedtime cage a little longer but I think in a few days they may be fine together! *breathes sigh of relief* Here's a pic or two of Simmi. Can't get many as she doesn't stay still much and getting on with Elsa is difficult too due to one of them moving! x x

Simmi is so cute - love her name too, where did you get that name from? Elsa seems to be coming round to accepting her new friend. I expect you watch them both for hours - I used to watch Blackberry and Willow play for ages, they were so funny.

Sounds really promising, so glad Elsa's coming round. Great photos of Simmi Must admit I like the dragon. I've got a collection of those particular ones in different colours, 4 are in the garden & the rest (3 I think) are in the conservatory with the original one in the living room (its the same design but not the same material & the most decorative). At least Ive got a reference point for Simmi's size from them

Tonib- I thought you'd like the dragon pic! Thought of you when I took it! Lotsofcats- her full name is Simoncelli! Marco Simoncelli was an outstanding and very much up and coming motorbike rider in MotoGP. He was amusing and exciting to watch and Keith and I were big fans. Then a year and a half ago he was killed from a hideous accident during a race. Luckily I wasn't watching it but heard it one the news and cried my eyes out. We decided to name kitten in his memory, thus Simmi for short. Goodness knows if the man himself even liked cats but hey ho! More playing today. NO growling! Elsa got too rough earlier and Simmi squealed but other than that there is amazing tolerance from Elsa. Lets hope it continues!
