We prob noticed booms wasn't himself prob early August his mood and behaviour was changing his vets app was for ibthink the 23 so chatted with the vet and said he isn't himself restless and mood change biting himself and excessive cleaning and getting sick he examined him and nothing the matter that he could see this got worse and one evening while sitting out with him I was as the vet had done going through his coat and yes black little dots now he has always had a tick flee repellent on but seems these buggers got by it got a good spot on treatement which did work but he had a reaction tonthe bites back to vet got antibiotics and antihistamines injections and some tablets to reduce skin discomfort and this was for a week more and more tablets poor booms has now gone from 6 kg to 5.5 for a cat that's a lot but the scratching continues one niggti decided to put him on the antibiotic I use for the town chaps 3 days later he is amazing almost himself its been a long long road blaming ourselves and in a way vet he didn't spot the mites the house has been cleaned upside down all his bedding he still refuses to use any of his big scratchers or rocking chairs but we have really turned the corner but that eill not ever happen to him again

Ahhh poor Boomsey , and the vets never spotted the problem. Good job you had the antibiotics , and was comfortable in your mind to give to him. How will you get the scratcher treated ?

Just bought a new fluffy throw to cover it with it might work then it might not we see later when we get home

Many years ago I met with a person that was huge into cat rescue and care and she told me of a antibiotics that u can get in the chemist and its just a little stronger that the vets its for kids its orampx powder and it's safe for cats well here it's prescription only but the world we live in there is always a way mix very LITTLE with a dish of water and although it's got a mild citrus smell iv yet to find a cat that tenured it and it has worked several times there is always a little supply at hand coz i never know what I will meet from one colony to the next

Never heard of that spider, but it is handy for you to know with all your cats as you often need something to hand quickly with any one of them.
