Update...
Alfie has had his acth blood test and its turned his trilostane is still too high so we've had to drop it again and then have another blood test on the 13th, I've also had his paw re-looked at and my vet has told me he needs surgery on it due to it not healing but once again I've turned down the surgery due to the circumstances with his hips and dm, its not been easy turning down both of the surgeries but I want to spend and enjoy as much time as possible as I can with my boy, as we all know I don't know how much time I have with him, he will still get all the care and love he needs and wants.
Alfie means so much to me, when the vet told me we won't have alfie much longer it broke my heart and I couldn't stop crying for 24 hours, I know I need to try and put a front on for him but it is so hard.

Alfie had acth blood test again today I hoping that he's on the right strength of trilostane because it'll mean another blood test in 10 days, he's also had an injection of librela, it's a new pain relief, it's given every 4 weeks, it's just to help him with the pain, he can also have his tramadol, I'm hoping it'll help him a little bit more.

I hope that he gets the level of painkiller to help him cope. How is he in himself?

I hope that he gets the level of painkiller to help him cope. How is he in himself? Since he had the librela injection it's as if I've got a different boy, he's been on his feet more playing and he seems happier in himself.

Well alf had his results back today and once again we've got to drop his dose of trilostane so that means once again he got to have another acth blood test in 10 days time, I hate putting him through this all the time. But we need to get the right dose for him.

Great that the librela injection has had such a positive effect on Alfie. How often does he have to have one?

Great that the librela injection has had such a positive effect on Alfie. How often does he have to have one? It's a monthly injection but I've spoken to my vet, he can have it as little as 2 weeks that's only if he's showing signs he's in pain again, but I think that depends on the dog and its problems ,this injection isn't cheap but I'm just trying to make sure alf isn't in pain or not suffering, I showed my vet a video of him the day after h e had it and she was surprised it worked on him so quickly but she was pleased with his movement. If only this came out alot sooner I would of gave it to him then.

Update.. it's so nice my boys bloods have come out ok for the first time in months so it means he's out of the addisonian crisis and his dose of trilostane is the right dose for now, he'll have to have more acth blood tests in a months time which will be a nice break for him and he's just had his second dose of the librela so I'm hoping he'll be more comfortable, but sadly the tumor has got alot bigger and its causing alot of bruising which he's on meds for and arnica cream to help.
Considering everything alf is doing really well, he's more clingy but I don't mind that.
I'm so proud of him

Update....
I've had to rush Alfie into the vets today as he's not really been drinking in a week and eating well is a joke, the vet thinks the cancer is doing this to him for she has advised me to drop his trilostane in the hope he will eat and drink, he has also lost 5kg in a month so I think we all know where this is heading.
The heartache Is unbearable

Oh no, I am sad to read this , I can’t imagine how you must be feeling , we say we do , from our own experiences , but its not the same , and no words can make you feel better , just take comfort knowing your boy knows you love him very much and try not to let him pick up on your sadness. I know its hard ,
