cazypops OK, I get that (compensating amount). Somehow I don't think this is a dog that is prone to over-eating anyway. She often leaves the last bit. Re dry food: I guess if I starved her and never gave her anything else as the vet says, I could get her to eat the dry kibble. But what a way to go through life - never getting to eat anything that you actually like; only eating the food so you don't starve. No thanks, I'd rather go to a bit of trouble and find stuff she wants to eat.

Regarding tear staining - show dogs don't have it. So if your going to Crufts ask exhibitors of Bichons or similar breeds what they use. Or, actually, maybe people on this forum going to Crufts could find out for you if you ask them nicely.

zahada That's interesting. There must be something that works then. I have tried a couple of things but have come to the conclusion they're like snake oil. spider Thanks.

I have visited the website of Crufts and that led to the Bichon Frise club UK and they use a paste. No recipe on the website, but I suspect it may be a paste of baking powder. Trying that, and will record results for anyone else who may like to know.

Nothing like hearing it from the horse's mouth.

zahada That's true, and apparently they don't publish the recipe. What a cute puppy you have with the lead in his/her mouth!
