My old fella got too tired to carry on so on Monday we let him go. He was 22.
Floyd aka Flinky was a petite black and white boy that I adopted when he was 13, 9 years ago. He was one of those cats that had the stomp walk. Young scallywag toms never bothered him, even these last few years.
He was like a grandad to the kittens in the houses due to his calm manner.
It was touching at the end as all of his 4 humans had a hand on him as he drifted off.
I told him that if he comes back we'd look after him all again.
Thank you Floyd. You were a wonderful little boy. God bless you and bring you back to us soon.

Such sad news, my heart goes out to you heartpawprints. I know 22 was an amazing age but that doesn't make it any easier for you. How lovely that you were all there at the end for him, bless him. R.I.P. Floyd xx Enjoy being young and fit again at Rainbow Bridge.

I'm so sorry to hear of the news of Floyd heartpawprints. It doesn't matter how long we have our pets they worm their way very quickly into our hearts & when their time with us is over we have a little bit of us missing. In Floyds case, the lovely 9 years he had with you showed the care you took of him so that he could reach the marvellous age of 22 but also I suspect leaving a large hole in the lives & hearts of you & your family (human & feline) It sounds like that he had a lovely send off & he will have been grateful for that, as well as the courage it took to take that last act of love for him. RIP Floyd Young again at Rainbow Bridge with old & new friends.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words. I still expect to see him sitting on the doorstep every time I open the front door, but the time was right for him to go, of that, I have no doubt.
