WHAT a week we have had!!!!! But I'm not going to let the thieving scumbags get me down!!!
Late last week our flat was burgled and the scumbags took our tv, computer, laptop and other gadgety stuff (Neil is livid!!!) - I'm just really upset and feeling rather creeped out that someone had been in our home uninvited I suppose it's a bit of a blessing that Neil's out of work at the moment because I doubt I'd be able to sleep easy in the flat on my own if he was on night shift. We'd only popped out for two hours to visit Lexie, the staffie we are dog-sitting next week, and when we got back we were greeted by an open front door and all lights blazing At first I thought ''Had I left the door open?'' But no...as soon as we got inside we realised and Neil called the police. We couldn't understand HOW none of our neighbours had seen or heard anything - tho' the nosy Welsh Witch downstairs is away at the moment.
It wasn't until the police knocked on a few doors the next day (they'd only taken details of what was missing the actual night we were burgled) that new neighbour opposite said she'd seen three young lads going into the flat and putting stuff into their car! She'd just assumed they were getting stuff from us (which the scum were - just NOT LEGALLY!!!! ) and not taken any further notice. All she could remember was that their car was red!!!
Thankfully neither cat was harmed....I can only assume that when strangers entered their house they hid, perhaps under our bed, and sneaked outside whilst the scum were busy in the living room or afterwards when they'd gone My heart just lurched and I felt sick when I got back and realised they weren't inside but both soon came running when I called them *phew* Loki was all chatty and full of purrs (no doubt telling us all about it!) but poor Phoebe was quite fluffed up for a while afterwards. At least the scumbags didn't get hold of them....material stuff can be replaced but my precious pusscats....well, I would just have to hunt down anyone who hurt them and Destroy Them!!!!
Anyway, for some bizarre reason I couldn't get back online via my phone on ANY of the websites and forums I normally frequented - this one, the birdwatching site, the couple of gardening ones - I was completely stumped Then on Monday night, whilst at work, I was able to access Facebook (after trying a couple of passwords) and managed to 'speak' to Cazypops and tell her what had happened. And it's only today, Wednesday, that I've been able to get online again properly - Neil has borrowed an old-but-functional laptop from his friend Woody who runs the video shop
Anyway let's hope the police can find out who did this. The said our lock wasn't a very good one which was really easy to open and the Housing Association have been out and put two PROPER locks on so, combined with the one Neil has also added, nobody should get past them now!!! The annoying thing was that the original lock (the one they got open) was put in by a housing association workman two years ago when the main lock broke!!! We rang up and they originally said they couldn't send anyone out for three weeks but Neil insisted that they send someone that same day as he was on night shift and his wife was in the house on her own So a guy turned up at 6pm and put a basic lock on and said he'd be back with a stronger one in a day or two....but never did now I come to think of it
Anyway, I'll shut up now and go and see what I've missed this past week....
