PFT - Could you not just bookmark it?? I think she means to make it a sticky so that everyone can keep track of it easily so we have a place to chat away in, rather than it just spilling over into other threads

Yeah I know what she means but not eveyone wants to see it so maybe the ones that like it will bookmark it. Thats what I did and it's so easy now. It wasn't a sticky in the old forum.

PFT - Could you not just bookmark it?? I'm not particularly bothered myself XD it was just that a couple of people have mentioned stickifying it, on the old forum too, and it was never done. Doesn't matter that much I guess..

How do I un-participate from a thread? I don't want to receive 'new' notifications from it any more... Hi PTF go to the thread in question click on actions tab and Remove Bookmark , if you change your mind then just go back and Bookmark it again Ah unfortunately that doesn't work. It wasn't bookmarked in the first place Even bookmarking and then un-bookmarking

petitsfilous - I think you have to go in to your profile part, there is a section in there where you can tick or untick how you receive stuff.

The Shoutbox is a little like a community but different and in a way a little more improved because it is live - never had that on the old site... I agree with all gladys said

petitsfilous - I think you have to go in to your profile part, there is a section in there where you can tick or untick how you receive stuff. Unfortunately I don't think you can stop having the "NEW" flag against threads whether in the forum pages or the participated list. As far as I'm aware there is not option to get a notification re participate threads other than the drop down list of Participated. I just ignore the new flag for threads I'm not longer interested in & when I've read all that I'm interested in I make the individual boards read by opening the board & reading any truly new threads & then picking the clicking the drop down box ACTION & choosing Mark Board Read. When looking at the individual board topics where all the threads are listed or Recent Threads if you hover your mouse just to the left of a thread title you'll see a tick box appear which you can select & repeat for other threads you'e not interested in & at the top of the page chose Mark Thread read & it'll mark all those you ticked read (doesn't seem to do it for participated threads). Hope this makes sense & apologies if you already knew all this. I'm still finding my way around here & these are things I have experimented with & discovered. Hopefully James & co will be able to clarify this although I think they asked for a new thread for each question so that they can see them easily rather than have to read new posts in this thread to check for new questions.

Hi, sorry if this has already been mentioned elsewhere but how do you find out exactly when you joined the forum so you can add it to your profile or signature box? For eg. Gladys has this at the bottom of hers: 'Member of Your Dog Forum since Tuesday, 1st April 2008 14:12 Member of Your Cat Forum since Friday, 14th November 2008 14:07' I've only been on YD before now.

Phiney, I stole mine off the old forum before they pulled the plug and just added it to the profile box.

Would have been nice and considerate of the YD team to provide us all with that information before they got rid of it all

Would have been nice and considerate of the YD team to provide us all with that information before they got rid of it all Why not PM James and ask the question, it may just be that the old forum has been taken off line giving no access to members, he may well have NOT Zapped it completely, just a thought and good luck
