I know its early days & things are changing but I'll start the questions As far as I can see there is no equivalent of the community from the old forum where people could upload photos into albums or pass comment without having to post them in a message. Will there be an equivalent here?

Not that I can see Toni, but I will take a look into this. The 'community' area on the old forum was useful for albums, but we also had feedback that people found it quite confusing having both forum and community areas. I will find out if there is the ability to have profile albums here.

Would there need to be a community if everyone could access the forum with ease? I never really used that part only on the odd occasion and also to upload photos the other day

I agree it was a bit confusing but in some ways it was useful especially as you could look at someone photos they posted a while back as well. However if everyone has to have a photobucket (or the like) account in order to post photos (other than 1 attachment per post) then perhaps having a link to their album on that medium might suffice although you wouldn't know if they'd uploaded new ones.

Another question.
Is there a way to see all the threads which have had a post since I was last on the forum regardless of the board (possibly just within a group such as Your Cat or Your Pet etc.)- same as the Recent Topics on the current forum.
This maybe a redundant question as we haven't got enough threads on this site to really see the volume implications of how this forum would look.

I don't know about the YC folk, but occasionally on the YD forum there would be threads posted that didn't seem to fit in with any of the specific board categories. Would it be possible to add an off topic or general chat category within each forum?

That's a good idea.
What about just one off topic area as it may well be something that YC members could input into YD member created topics or vice versa as they won't be cat or dog related, particularly as some members have both & I know of some that are members on both forums. Otherwise it would come under under the appropriate general chat board.

So to clarify, would you Luke a board under 'general' for off topical coversations?

I did originally mean separate boards under the separate 'your dog', 'your cat' and 'your pet' sections for off topic conversations, but one under the 'general' section is probably a better idea. I just know that on our old 'Your Dog' forum, we had a 'Chit-Chat Thread' specifically for off topic conversations, but it often got lost so I thought a separate off topic section would be nice.

So to clarify, would you Luke a board under 'general' for off topical coversations? That was my thought but it may not be what orpheous87 was thinking or what others want. P.S. Due to posting at more or less the same time I now see orpheous87 has already commented on this as well

Please don't add a community part too I can't cope with more?!?! Can we not just have a place for albums but not the rest of the community bit?? I like the idea that an off topic is somewhere that all forum members will go instead of having all separate, that way we can mix and chat.
