...It's another! Cody is limping quite badly. He was fine until my dad came home about an hour or so ago. My mam said that he ran out of the door fine but came back in limping. He's barely weight bearing on it and I have an awful feeling that his cruciate has gone. I had a good feel/prod about and there was no yelping or any apparent discomfort. I'll be ringing the vets in the morning to see if they'll see him tomorrow but if not, it'll have to be Monday.

I hope its not the cruciate, from past experience thou (3 times ) there is no yelping etc. It was the holding the leg up occasionally and running on 3 legs that gave it away for me. Hope hes just pulled it , good luck x

I echo scallywag, hope its not his cruciate. Fingers crossed he is ok and at worst its just a pulled muscle.

I hope it's not too, but from Oscar's experience, it's looking very much the same. He's not sitting square on his backside anymore, he sits more to the side and he's very much not himself. My uncle was just round and normally he can't even speak without Cody barking and barking at him but today he just sat by my feet looking sorry for himself. He barked when they stood up to go, but soon stopped.
He has, however, just given me a laugh when he went out to pee. Now, you'd think he'd figure "well, this leg is already up in the air so I'll turn that way and pee", but no. He attempted to lift his good leg and just fell over. I know I shouldn't laugh but I'd said earlier that I'd bet he'd do that. He eventually just peed on his front feet and came back inside, leaving my uncle to leave the house with no fuss.

Poor Codie, I agree with the others and hope it isn't his cruciate. Give him a big {{HUG}} form me and Jasper.
Let us know how he gets on.

He's in bed now. He somehow managed to jump up onto the settee while we were out saying goodbye to my uncle, but normally if there's any little noise from our neighbours, he'll be off the settee like a shot, barking, and there's been none of that tonight. He's laid on the settee next to me for the whole night, which is very unusual. Obviously there's going to be no walking for him tomorrow. He's not overly confident on 3 legs from what I've seen so far.
Our vet's Sunday policy is that appointments are for emergencies only so I'm not sure if they'll class this as an emergency. I expect we'll have to get an appointment for Monday, but we'll see. I'll keep you all posted!

Thanks tonib. He's off to the vets at half 10 so we'll see. He's managing better this morning, but is still carrying his leg if he's moving faster than a slow walk.

Sorry for the delay! The vet thinks it's possibly more likely to be a muscle strain rather than his ligament, so he's been prescribed Loxicom for 5-7 days and no walks/restricted exercise. If he's no better after that time then we'll have to take him back as it could be the ligament after all. But obviously we'll deal with that if it comes to it.
He's walking better on it today, although still limping at times. I think the overnight rest did him good, plus he had an injection of Loxicom at the vets to get it into his system quicker. He's still not putting his foot down completely though and keeps standing on his toes rather than his full foot.

Fingers crossed tonib. I have to admit, I'm not convinced it's just a muscle strain.
