It's happened again Supposed to be off today but had a phone call last night at 9pm asking if I could do the early shift today (6am - 9am) so I said yes and went to bed. It was only when I got to work and actually took my phone out of my bag that I saw a message from scallywag saying I'd been messed about with on here again! So as soon as I got home I switched on computer and it seems I've been hacked not only with this forum but also my internet banking, photobucket, blog and email Neil has called the police so we are just waiting for them to come round and in the meantime he, Neil, has told me to switch off the pc and he will disconnect it from the wall. Just thought I'd best let you guys know as, to be honest, we are BOTH sick and tired of this palaver keep happening and are thinking of just getting rid of the pc and internet altogether Hopefully it won't come to that (we'll see what the police say) but if you don't see me for a while you'll know why

All sorted! Police eventually came around at 11am and took my details of what websites and stuff had been messed about with. I was lucky in that I don't get paid until next Tuesday so there was less than 90p in my bank account but after the police had been and gone I went around to my bank and closed my account because I just don't feel safe with them I've opened an account with the same bank as Neil and given my details to work so my wages should be transferred as normal next week...perhaps a day or so late because of it being a Bank Holiday but we're not going to be living on water and Lily's food because Neil got paid on Wednesday. Police also paid another visit to the young lad next door who was responsible for the last episode and, this time, have taken it a bit more seriously and taken his laptop away....as well as taking him back to the station. His mum is away on a hen night do in the Lake District and not back until tomorrow (his older cousin was 'babysitting' apparently) so she's really gonna be thrilled to hear the police have been back at her door. She went ballistic last time and confiscated his phone and computer for a month which, she told us, was more painful to him than having an arm lopped off Anyway, to cut a long story short, the police have questioned him and found out what sites he was messing about with and so now I just have to sort those out Neil is absolutely foaming and wanted to go and smack him one but the police warned him not to Personally I think his mother will give him what for...and more!!!....when she gets back and finds out what he's been up to this time! Anyway...off to see if I can salvage photobucket and blog stuff Oh, and facebook too apparently....that must have been boring for him cos it's all cat & dog stuff Little s**t!!!!!

are you going to change your password for here if he knows that and don't like to ask but do you think hes involved with a certain disappearance ?
The police didn't want to see the disgusting stuff he changed your account to then ?

I've already changed my password and will continue to do so every week (and will write it down too cos I know what I'm like for forgetting stuff! ). I told the police that he had changed my avatar and name to something really disgusting but they didn't seem too bothered about that - just the getting hold of my internet banking details Obviously chat rooms and forums aren't important enough....perhaps they're just classed as places where folk go to 'gossip' etc As to Nina's disappearance - it has crossed my mind a lot that it may have been one of the two nasty neighbours because with Nina being SO friendly it would be easy as pie to pick her up as she loved everybody I just cannot understand WHY anyone would want to give me this much hassle because I just keep myself to myself and never bother anyone

@domino, did the police give you any advice on what to do about stopping this happening again. It sounds like the lad was able to get easily obtain your new details & hence there is the risk he (or someone else) could do it again.
Besides changing your passwords regularly I would advise that you get your computer(s) checked by a computer security specialist not simply the local computer support guy. Mark (who knows more about these sort of things) suspects that a key-logging program has been put on your computer to record your typing etc. These are designed to be well hidden from normal investsigation including your Anti-virus.
I don't want to panic you but if this is how it was done then the likelihood is that it is still running & recording all the changes you now make & storing it all somewhere outside of your computers so could be accessed again in the future.
Also I don't know who provides your broadband but I would suggest contacting them to see if then can check your router for any compromise there & get it resolved & also the security of the wi-fi or ethernet network that you use within the home.
I apologise if I have been too techinical on this but would be happy to clarify further if you need it.
Oh should have said glad to see you back & lets hope mum & the police can deal with the lad so that he does't want to do it again to you or anyone else.

Don't blame Neil for wanting to go round and smack the little s**t! I'm almost frightened to ask...but what happened to Nina? Sorry I haven't had time to come on the forum much lately.

Glad Police are taking it seriously. Though unsure what they can do with underage person! As Police warned him last time and he has ignored the slap on the wrist I would hope that they would follow through this time!
Is it worth saying to Police that Nina is missing?

Glad to see that you've got FB sorted out @domino as it means Nina's missing posts (& comments) have reappeared on the Alnwick lost cat FB group. Must admit I'd let the police know about Nina even if you don't think it's the same person.

Nina went missing on Monday 9th May and hasn't been seen since She was in the house when I left to go to the allotment at 11.30am but when I got back around 3pm she wasn't around. I just assumed she was outdoors enjoying the sunshine but when she missed a meal I started to worry Nina definitely LOVED her grub!!!!! I've looked everywhere, got her up on facebook, posters around the town, even drove out to Rothbury last week to follow a lead a customer gave me about a lost grey cat (it was a boy but at least his finder will be keeping him if his home doesn't turn up). Then LAST Monday, one week after Nina, Lily disappeared!!!!!! Neil was all for banging on the neighbour's doors and shaking them until they told what they'd done with our girls but Lily eventually strolled through the door after 17 HOURS and demanded food!!! I'm still hopeful darling Nina will be found and will be back home with us very soon - we are all missing her SO MUCH

Oh and thanks for all that info Tonib - I'll show Neil as he's a lot more techy minded than me....and knows guys who are REALLY good at this stuff so he can ask their advice and get them to sort us out.

@domino , I'm not decrying Neil's guys but this is really specialist security expertise not just knowledge of anti-virus & basic computer security etc. These key-logging programs are designed to hide themselves very wel

So sorry to hear about Nina @domino. Hope your gorgeous girl is found safe and sound. I've owned cats in the past who've gone out and not come back , so I really feel for you. On a positive note though...one of them a long haired male called Monty went missing for six weeks and then strolled in wearing a new collar as if he'd never been away! x

So very sorry to read this has all flared up again @domino,you must be sick to the back teeth with it all. I would definitely heed tonib s advice, both regarding the computer and reporting the disappearance of Nina, some people are very spiteful and you certainly haven't anything to lose by bringing it up.It made me suspicious when I read about your numpty young neighbours antics being repeated,he obviously didn't heed his mums ear bashing etc.Wouldn't like to have been in his shoes when mum was greeted with the news on her return.
