Yes, only some offer it - reason being that the expensive training and equipment has to warrant the amount of customers that would pay the extra for it. I have had a long chat with a vet who is qualified, he said you need to be practising this op on a regular basic or you forget the precised techniques required. It is double the cost but in the right hands is the way forward. He does one a week but would query a vet who does it less often.
I would like to say also that in some counties like Switzerland it in not legal to preform what we call traditional spays on a healthy dog, it is unacceptable in their eyes to subject a healthy dog to this form of op. Medical reasons only is accepable. So on that basis, my bitch will be having keyhole/lap spay.

I never would have thought! I would have thought it is purely the owner's choice whether or not their dog is neutered, in any country. Obviously not the case...
