Welcome to the world of cat poo investigation & discussion J1M & cheryl Glad to hear Ringo is being happier (?) in the crate & being a good quiet boy outside. Nice to hear the vet was pleased with his recovery. Great pictures, he has a lovely patterned coat

Animals I love: Cats
Pets I own: Have always had cats as far as I can remember. Currently the owners of a Tabby kitten called "Ringo". He was born Weds 29/04/2015 & we got him Thursday 18/06/2015. He's just over 3 months old at time of writing. He is light grey with black Tiger stripes & he has black rings around his tail & back legs, hence the name "Ringo". Nothing to do at all about The Beatles. Now he has started to develop a beigey colour in his coat, & in some photos & different light, for some reason seems to have a slight orangey/ginger colour.
He's a right character, always friendly & loving & happy to see us, always following us around the house, always charging around & playing with his toys & stalking anything that moves, & then when he gets tired, jumps up for a fuss. Couldn't ask for a better cat. He's perrrfect.

Welcome to the world of cat poo investigation & discussion J1M & cheryl It's getting better slowly. It's starting to get some shape. I need a gas mask though. Phew. Ringo seems like he might be getting used to his cage/crate now. Before I went to bed last night, I made a fuss of him as normal before gently putting him in on his blanket. He may have still been feeling the effects of the Trazodone, but he started paddling his blanket & was purring. I stroked him only for a couple of seconds & he laid down. Brilliant. Came down this morning to go to work & everything in his cage was where it should be, we make a fuss of him in the mornings but he stays in his cage until I've left for work as we are both too busy to keep an eye on him properly. Once I've gone Cheryl lets him out & gives him his breakfast & makes sure he doesn't move unnecessarily. As Ringo is confined to the living room, he now has his food & fountain next to his cage which is at one end of the sofa. We've had to hide his tunnel & toys & CatIt ball track thing to discourage him from wanting to play at times. After sorting his litter tray, Cheryl puts it back in the cage & leaves the door wide open & he goes in to use his tray & then comes back out to go back on the sofa. I don't want Ringo thinking that if he goes in his cage that he will be locked in. Since having the Trazodone though, he doesn't really do anything but sleep all day & night, only waking up to do his business or have something to eat. We can't wait for him to get better & be himself again. 4 weeks seems like an eternity.

Just doing a quick catch up. So glad to see that Ringo is on the mend, and things are firming up nicely.

Haha makes me feel really lucky with my cats, their poops never smell these days. We have a litter tray in our bedroom too so it's especially good that the poops don't smell (and are also tiny haha).
Glad Ringo is doing so well, you must be dying to get him back to normal though!

Ringo's been good as gold again today bless him. We've got to be more careful with him now though because his 4 days of his Metacam finished yesterday. He's only having Trazodone now to calm him down& leaves him very drowsy. Now the padding has been taken away, if he lays the right way, we can keep an eye on his wounds where the pins go in his leg to make sure they heal like they should & can now see if he gets an infection. It'll be so nice when he's back to his old playful self.

What a nice clean incision, it looks like it healing nicely. Four week will fly by, in fact it will go by so quickly you'll wonder where the time has gone when you're trying to stop him from climbing the christmas tree.

Glad to hear he's off the Metacam & isn't showing any signs of pain. The Trazaadone is changing his personality (for the moment) but can you imagine what it would be like if he wasn't dosed! He'll soon be back to normal when that is finally finished & then works its way out of his system when do you next go back to the vets?

As his meta cam has worn off now he's awake alot more & when he does move, he's moving a lot slower, it's starting to hurt or ache now.

Ah, I thought it was the Trazadone that was making him sleepy. Ours haven't reacted with sleep to Metacam but yes he will be feeling it more now the Metacam is wearing off So that might be why he's awake more. Poor boy. Hope all goes well on Thursday.
