We still have some of Oscar's old stuff like his bed and a climbing cat scratch, is it best to get rid of these for the new arrivals or can we reuse them? And how long do we have to keep them indoors to get them used to our home before they can start venturing outdoors? I've not had kittens in over 10 years I've forgotten how to do it haha! Using Oscar's old stuff should be ok - I've never had problems using 'hand me downs' As to keeping them indoors - best to keep them in until they are both neutered as you don't want any accidents Glad you took the black one....soon as I saw the pic I thought pick that one, pick that one!!! Is 'blackie' a girl or boy?

Is 'blackie' a girl or boy? Oh forgot to answer that one jess. Like @gillykat we've definitely not had any problems with cats using a previous cat's stuff unless there was something infectious involved, which I don't think was the case with Oscar. As to keeping them indoors there is a period of acclimatisation to get them to recognise that your house is their home now, but as gillykat answered even more important is that they are fully vaccinated & also neutered, the age for neutering is dependent on weight & also age. You need to speak to your vet about when they normally neuter kitten usually somewhere between 4 & 6 months old, I believe.

The kittens are gorgeous - glad you chose a black one as well as a tortie - to be honest I couldn't have left the other one there! You'll be the same as me now, 1 tortie and 1 black. How long until you get them? Have you chosen names yet?

All 3 look lovely but I must admit that the one on th eleft looks as though it will be a real naughty tortie so possibly a wise choice to choose the other! Glad you saw them with mum as well, hope all goes well when you bring them home Of course we will want more pictures Funny you say that because she definitely was the more feisty of the two torties so we thought she'd be more than fine to be left without her sisters haha! Thank you, I definitely will be posting more pictures once they're here with us! Yeah the black one was just lovely, all of them are girls which is nice tonib Brill thank you, we get them at 12 weeks so will keep them in until they're 5 months so we can get vaccs/neutering out the way asap! We're picking them up in a couple of weeks, they're ready to go now but we've got a big party at our house next weekend so thought it'd be best to wait until the madness of that was over! And no names yet so if anyone has any suggestions!! thank you everyone

I wanted a kitten for my special birthday last month and hubby wouldn't let me have one. I was going to call her Bluebell. My Willow would have been a Bluebell but when she was born (by C-section) the veterinary nurse said she couldn't tell if she was a boy or a girl so until we were certain we called her Willow and then didn't like to change it.

They are lovely jess. Glad to hear they settling in well. Which is which? Honey is the tortie and probably the more confident of the two, Olive is the black one who follows her aha

Aw, they are both lovely. If you are like I was with my 2 youngest, you sit and watch them for ages because they are so cute and funny when they play together. My tortie was the most confident of my 2 and the black one would sit back and watch everything she did.

The little ladies had their 12 week jabs today and I was so impressed by how chilled out they were at the vets! Not like our last cat Oscar who had a red flag by his name in the vets books and the female vet would refuse to see him because of how much he bit and scratched hahaa! Not even a hiss from the kittens which was so reassuring. They've taken to sleeping on my bed which I have no issue at all with, in some very cute positions too:

Oh boy Honey knows how to give the cute kitten look but at the same time I can see the naughty tortie trying to get out! Looks like she & Olive enjoy a good rough & tumble Glad to hear they were so well behaved at the vets jess

Lovely pictures, glad to hear it went so well at the vets too! I have thankfully never had a vet savaging cat (although Carlotta once had a really bad experience with a terrible vet and ended up biting me haha, but she has been great since) and can only imagine what goes on in there when I am in the waiting room and hear a cat yowling in the treatment room (they always look quite happy with themselves in their carriers when taken away afterwards though, haha).
It must help that the kittens went together too I imagine, they look very close.
Haha having cats sleeping on the bed is great, just wait though, some of the sleeping positions are adorable now but see when they are older and won't budge... Hahaha! Well, you get used to having to lie in a really awkward position because there's a cat on each side of you on top of the blanket and keeping you pinned down haha.

Olive (the black one) keeps weeing on my bed - first time she did it was after I'd sprayed some perfume, I left the bottle on my bed and she weed on it and now this morning she's just done it again They're both toilet trained so can't understand why she's doing this, how can I get her to stop?
