Hi,
My cat Sam, who is almost 19, has always been quite a fussy eater, but she does like the Purina Gourmet Solitaire slow-cooked range of food (duck, beef and chicken). However, I have recently discovered that Purina have decided to discontinue the 'chicken in white sauce' variety, leaving just two types available.
Does anyone know of any similar alternatives ? Sam seems to like the fact that the meat is mixed in a sauce rather than just gravy, but I have not seen anything suitable from other manufacturers. I have tried her with pate type foods but she doesn't really like them.
Thanks, Chris.

Have you tried contacting Purina to explain that you have a fussy eater and ask them if they do anything similar to the chicken in white sauce or know of anyone who does?

Thanks for replies. I'll try getting some of the Sheba product.
I contacted Purina and they confirmed it has been discontinued, even though it is still on their site. They said this was due to feedback from retailers that demand was low. In reality, I always found it was very difficult to actually buy the product because it used to sell out so quickly!

Good luck @cs2015, it will be interesting to hear if your cat likes it. Our Penny used to but then went off it (maybe a recipe change) By chance I tried the Gourmet Solitare chicken on her a few days ago but she wasn't too keen, first half of the tin went reasonably well (she gets 1/2 a tin each meal along with kibble) but she didn't really have much of the 2nd half not even just licking up the sauce. She's eating other food fine so its obviously not to her taste.
Shame they're discontinuing due to lack of demand.

Confusingly, the Gourmet 'mini fillets - chicken in sauce' is still widely available, even though it no longer appears on Purina's site. Even more confusing is that when my local Sainsburys checked the bar codes for the two products '...sauce' and '...white sauce', they had identical bar codes. Figure that one out!
My cat really likes the slow cooked white sauce version, but not the mini fillets sauce type.

That is odd @cs2015, any luck with a replacement?

That is odd @cs2015, any luck with a replacement? Yes, I got some of the Sheba turkey in white sauce, and my cat seems to like it. It looks and smells completely different to the Purina product, but my cat has had 3 'half-tins' so far, and has eaten all of it. I asked Purina about the duplicate bar-codes issue, and they said that the 'slow cooked white sauce' version has been replaced by the 'mini fillets sauce' version, and is using the same bar-code.
