Caz, your post was more detailed than mine. If I'd gone into that detail, it would have taken me a while too!

Lol! Yes, tone doesn't come across well via Internet. I always feel as though I need to point out that I don't mean it in a bad way. Also, can I just say, I'm very glad you decided to stick around Caz

barley is insured
As food wise for toller when she becomes a qualified SAR dog we get free Oscars food
Yes we know that a second dog will mean double the cost of everthing, we have thought it through, and bearing in mind this second dog will be mine as barley is the family dog, so most cost will come from me

What about the time it will take to fully train the dog? Where will the money be coming for?
And if you paying for the Toller is the case, can you not pay for Barley now? If we ever get a second dog, reaponsibilty will fall to me and I'm also looking to sar training but I would have to make sure I would be able to afford it all before I took another on.

it takes about 2 years to fully train a SAR dog, but does depend on the dog, there is one dog on our team that was qualified within one year of goining, we know that it is double the responsibility and time and effort, but it was dads desion in the first place to get second dog to train for SAR as it would be dual handled by me and him
