Hello all. Does any one have any input on importing a dog to the uk? He's a boxador (boxer/lab mix) although in some peoples opinions he looks like he might have some staffer shore terrier in him. Do you think we will have a problem?

Do you think we will have a problem? You shouldn't have a problem unless he looks like a pitbull or pitbull type in which case he may be refused entry. What breed is he listed as on his passport?

How are you intending on getting him to the UK? It's just most airlines and ferry companies won't fly dogs with shorter snouts, although if you say he looks more staffie like then I suppose he has a longer snout so should be fine.
As far as I know, boxers, Staffies and labs are all fine to travel into the UK. As Zahada has said, it should say on the dog passport. They usually just put "BREED mix" for cross breeds, for example my dogs passport says Border Collie Mix even though we know what the other breed she is mixed with is. The vets just pick the one they look most like, apparently haha. Do you have everything else ready and are just worried about the breed, or do you want advice on traveling with a dog into the UK as well? Haha.

Well we adopted him and on his paper work he's listed actually as a "Labrador mix" but after looking at some pictures we believe he could be a boxer lab mix. We've still got to get everything in order paper work, bloodwork etc but we may go back to shelter and ask them to change paperwork or have vet identify actual breed. I'm just worried being that many people could jump the conclusion that he may have some pitt although staffies I believe fall under Pitt category in uk. We are just really worried if we bring him the. Get to customs and they say no and euthanize him on the spot. Such a stressful time.

American Staffordshire Bull Terriers and Pit Bulls are the same thing, but UK staffies are fine to bring into the UK as far as I know. They would have to do a blood test first to see if he had pit bull in his blood. Do you have a planned travel date? If not (or its ages away) and you're worried, you can get a blood test done, and then you can bring the results with you.

Staffies or Staffordshire Bullterriers do not fall in the pitbull category, staffies are staffies. What country are you bringing him from? And UK customs do not euthanize dogs. They can refuse entry or seize the dog. Doesn't mean death sentence for the dog though. I really think you should contact DEFRA, or a British Embassy in your country for clarification.
If you are so worried about him not being able to enter the UK, is there a chance you could find him a new home in the country where he lives now?
There are DNA test for mixed breeds - google Wisdom panel, that may help identify your dog's ancestry, although they may not be 100% accurate and can't be used in court of law as evidence.

I don't believe that there is a blood test to determine if a dog has or hasn't pitbull in him. That is why, when a dog is accused of being a pitbull or pitbull type, his/her physical features are measured and temperament assessed to determine how close to a pitbull he/she is. There are DNA tests - see my earlier posts.
