My English Springer spaniel is due to have a "cut and blow" at the weekend,my question is "as its cold should I just let them tidy his paws and leave the rest alone?" Thanks

Personally I wouldn't have Beau clipped and he wears a coat when we go out in this weather. I trimmed the fur between his toes last night as it happens so he doesn't get those horrid ice balls stuck to him LOL

I clip my Cocker as usual in the winter in order to help keep him and the house clean and prevent snow sticking to him. I do feel a bit guilty but i always make sure he is wrapped up warm with a coat when we go out and he seems to cope ok.

My eldest Border Terrier is hand-stripped - and as it warms up. He then grows his coat back for winter as he does shiver and does seem cold in the winter months. My youngest is still a puppy and is naturally incredibly hairy therefore has not been hand-stripped yet in her life. Both dogs wear a nice warm coat for walks etc to keep them warm. If you do choose to get your dog clipped, him wearing a nice warm coat would be a good idea..
