Jasper also has cue words. When we're up first thing or going to bed he's put out in the garden and told go and have a wee, and if he's having a sniffing fest then he know when we say right thats enough have a wee he has to do is right away and come in. When we go for a walk he also knows the words have a poo, not that we have to use that command too often, as it's the first thing he wants to do so he can enjoy his run about. Some times at bed time he's fast asleep and won't wake up when called so I will pick him up and carry him to the door saying all the way it's time to go wee. (I know I'm a big softy)

Yes,cue words for toileting are things we have always used and work well. It's a very long time since we had to house train a puppy, but try not to get stressed as it will pick up on your anxiety, and they all get it right in the end. Remember to take the puppy outside regularly, and after it has had a meal or just wakened. All of our pups slept in the kitchen with newspaper near the back door for any 'accidents',and all learned to be clean very quickly. That was until a second 18month old dog joined the family and howled the place down at night and scratched at the door.We put both dogs beds on the landing (with all bedroom doors closed) and both were very happy with the arrangement, thank goodness.Try not to chop and change too much,as the pup will find it confusing and it may set it back.Good luck, hope you get results very soon.

Hi all sorry that it's been so long since my last reply. We have been extra strong - no stressing or upset and it seems that all the hard work has certainly paid off! We seem to have a new little boy around the house! No more scent spreading (must have been the white vinegar!) Hardly ever having a mishap of a no.2 in the house! Beginning to toilet to a command He has learnt that he's not allowed upstairs in the house No more howling at night - Alvin even knows to go to his crate when we tell him its bed time! Everything has had such a positive effect on us and our boy. Thank you so much for all of your support! HE no longer seems the little terror destroying our home =) (typing this as we have Sunday morning snuggles on the sofa)

Very glad to hear all your hard work is paying off sophie! It's so rewarding isn't it? Our three all know what the words 'it's bedtime' mean and will head off to their crates without much fuss

You should need to train your doggie for normal potty and urine, you can start it with your own or it would be the best if you take help of any good dog training services.
